TowardPi product line covers ophthalmic OCT, surgical microscopes, ultra-wide-field fundus cameras, and optical biometers. Additionally, product lines such as ophthalmic femtosecond laser and phaco-vitrectomy are under development. TowardPi Medical was founded in 2017, with its core technology originating from Tsinghua's scientific and technological achievements transformation. Its core technical team is composed of dozens of graduates from Tsinghua University. TowardPi Medical has developed a series of high-end medical equipment and currently employs more than 300 individuals, including over 100 staff members in the R&D team. The company invests nearly 100 million yuan annually in research and development. TowardPi Medical has established R&D centers in Beijing and Shanghai, as well as manufacturing bases in Beijing, Suzhou, and Tianjin.

    Intraretinal “bridge”, a RAP revealed by 3D full range SS-OCTA! A 66-year-old female was found a round lesion at macular in her left eye because of blurred vision. High-resolution OCT B-scan showed local retinal detachment at macular with intraretinal hyperreflection connected to RPE close to fovea. “Double-layer sign” and RPE interruption were also observed (fig 1, yellow arrow). 6mm x 6mm full range OCTA was obtained centered fovea. The blood signal on avascular layer verified the existence of neovascularization. On B-scan image with blood signal overlayed, corresponding neovascularization was detected both inside the intraretinal hyperreflection lesion (fig 2, yellow arrow) and beneath RPE (fig 2, red arrow). This patient was diagnosed as retinal angiomatous proliferation (RAP) in her left eye. Retinal thickness in ETDRS rings and neovascularization area were quantified with build-in software for follow-up. 3D reconstruction showed how the neovascularization extended from deep vascular complex to beneath RPE (gif). TowardPi full range swept source OCT was used in this case to detect neovascularization. Numerous measurements and flow quantifications are available on the device. 3D structure and vessels can be easily obtained with build-in software.     Novel choroidal biomarker in predicting treatment outcomes of PCV: 3D CVI! The research recently published in <Ophthalmic Research> innovatively investigated the relationship between multiple choroidal biomarkers, clinical parameters, and the response to 3-monthly anti-VEGF therapy in PCV eyes by using full range SS-OCTA. 54 patients were enrolled and underwent a comprehensive ophthalmic examination at the initial visit and follow-up. Choroid thickness (CT) and 3D CVI (the ratio of the choroidal vessel volume to the total choroid volume) in 6mm x 6mm full range SS-OCTA centered on the fovea were analyzed. The result showed that the higher CVI at baseline was the ONLY factor that correlated with the poor response after 3 monthly injections of anti-VEGF and the CVI value showed superior predictive ability compared with the CT value. In the other word, 3D CVI using full range SS-OCTA was a promising biomarker to predict the response to anti-VEGF treatment in PCV patients. “This biomarker could also be a useful tool to identify the population at risk of an inadequate response to anti-VEGF.” A 400kHz speed full range swept source OCTA (#BMizar, TowardPi Medical) was used in this research to detect neovascularization and quantify the choroid vasculature with built-in algorithms. Automatic segmentation of the choroidal Haller's and Sattler's layer and choroid parameters such as 3D CVI are available on the device.     "Primary" or "delayed"? IOL tilt and decentration evaluated by panoramic AS SS-OCT! Research recently published in <IJO> evaluated the tilt and decentration of intraocular lenses (IOLs) in eyes that underwent phacovitrectomy for macula-off rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) repair by using panoramic anterior segment (AS) swept source OCT.  63 patients with macula-off RRD who underwent phacovitrectomy were enrolled and divided into a primary implantation group and a delayed implantation group according to the time of IOL implantation. IOL tilt, measured as α angle—angle of the IOL axis (black line) and the pupillary axis (green line), and IOL decentration (red segment, distance between IOL center and the pupillary axis) were analyzed on the device (figure 1). Results showed that the absolute values of IOL tilt and decentration were greater in eyes with delayed IOL implantation than in eyes with primary implantation. Primary IOL implantation leads to a postoperative myopic shift, while in the delayed group, the extent of IOL tilt and decentration positively correlated with the time interval between phacovitrectomy and IOL implantation. A 100KHz speed full range swept source OCTA (#YAlkaid, TowardPi Medical) was used in this study to achieve panoramic AS OCT with 15mm scan depth, which makes it easy to visualize entire anterior segment from top of cornea to posterior lens capsule. All measurements are automatic assisted by AI technology on the device (figure 2).
