【#JustTransition】 Achieving China’s carbon neutrality goals presents unique challenges for regions heavily dependent on coal mining and consumption. To address this, the "Exploring Financing Mechanisms for a Just Transition in China" research project, focusing on Shanxi Province as a case study, recently concluded with a workshop on December 6, co-hosted by National School of Development (#NSD) at Peking University, Chinese Academy of Fiscal Sciences, and #WRIChina. By identifying both the pressures and opportunities for transformation in Shanxi, the research explores innovative fiscal and financial mechanisms that could support a just transition in China. Centered on the theme "Enhancing Economic Value with Agricultural Sustainability," the event explored how global collaboration can advance green development across agricultural value chains.
