Followill says the Tennessee band’s ninth studio album saw them being inspired by Julia Cameron’s book The Artist’s Way, as well of the music of post-punk acts like IDLES and Fontaines D.C. He also touches on Kings of Leon’s desire to “run away from” their 20th anniversary, and wanting to form a rock ‘n’ roll Avengers with members of Pearl Jam and Blink-182.
