My Old Ass, a new coming-of-age comedy written and directed by Megan Park and starring Maisy Stella and Aubrey Plaza, has shared its first official trailer.

My Old Ass originally premiered at Sundance 2024, and will arrive in theaters on September 13th. The film follows 18-year-old Elliott (Stella) as she encounters a 39-year-old version of herself (Plaza) while tripping on mushrooms. The two stay in touch, and Elliott’s older self provides guidance and warns her of future heartbreak — however, it’s up to Elliott to try and heed her own advice in real time.

“In this fresh coming-of-age story, an 18th birthday mushroom trip brings free-spirited Elliott (Maisy Stella) face-to-face with her wisecracking 39-year-old self (Aubrey Plaza). But when Elliott’s “old ass” starts handing out warnings about what her younger self should and shouldn’t do, Elliott realizes she has to rethink everything about family, love, and what’s becoming a transformative summer,” reads the film’s official logline.

In addition to Plaza and Stella, My Old Ass also stars Maddie Ziegler (of Dance Moms and Sia music video fame), Percy Haynes White, Kerrice Brooks, Seth Isaac Johnson, Maria Dizzia, Carter Trozzolo, and more. The film arrives courtesy of Amazon MGM, and was produced by Margot Robbie via her LuckyChap Entertainment production arm. Watch the trailer below.
