Proud to be part of the 2️⃣nd XTRACT-PROJECT Plenary Meeting, which took place in São Domingos, Portugal, on 26th and 27th November. Prof. Diego Gonzalez-Aguilera presented the successful data acquisition campaign conducted the previous week by Universidad de Salamanca and ACCELIGENCE LTD. at the São Domingos open-pit mine. This campaign involved airborne geophysics using the CERBERUS UAV (https://lnkd.in/dqVNywf5). Exciting results are anticipated as both teams work on a challenging yet highly innovative application: underground mine mapping and material characterisation. This effort features a newly developed indoor UAV, which incorporates on-board processing by ACCELIGENCE LTD. and autonomous navigation and analysis led by Universidad de Salamanca. The systems are set to be validated during underground operations at the BORKDAL mine in Sweden. During the meeting, the initial designs were presented by aeronautical engineer Andreas Lefkatis. The teams are ready to proceed with development under the guidance of Mandalay Resources, Björkdalsgruvan AB (BJORKDAL) mine experts. Promising results are expected in the coming months. 📣 On 27-28 November 2024, Grigore Havarneanu and Kacper Kubrak, Senior Security Advisors, are representing the UIC Security Department at the 5th Plenary Meeting of the ODYSSEUS project project in Lisbon. They are currently discussing with the project team the final details for the implementation of the first phase of the pilot and finetuning the agenda. 🛡️ The rail pilot led by UIC Security Department is scheduled for 16-18 December 2024 at the Ungheni border crossing between Romania 🇷🇴 and Moldova 🇲🇩. 🛂 The Ungheni passenger train pilot will be the first of the project, followed by other tests which will take place in road and water border crossing points.   🚉 This activity will be conducted in two stages – first, measuring baseline operations, followed by testing enhanced operations using ODYSSEUS technology, including seamless border crossings, as well as illegal entry detection with drone technology in partnership with  ACCELIGENCE LTD. 🤝 The pilot will include active participation from Romanian border authorities to evaluate the technology’s effectiveness in real-world rail conditions. ❔ Learn more about the project and the event here: https://lnkd.in/e5xQKGMB #ODYSSEUS #BorderSecurity #Rail #Innovation #CrossBorderOperations #TechForGood #UICrail #EUProjects

🌟 New Success Stories for the TREEADS Project! 🌟 The recent demonstration of TREEADS technologies at Măcin National Park in Romania 🇷🇴 marked a significant milestone in advancing fire detection and response capabilities. In collaboration with ACCELIGENCE LTD, SIMAVI Software Imagination & Vision, and Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH), a groundbreaking integrated AR and UAV solution - enhanced with advanced AI technologies - was showcased. This innovative solution, running in real-time on the ᴄᴇʀʙᴇʀᴜꜱ ᴜᴀᴠ ᴘʀᴏᴛᴏᴛʏᴘᴇ, provided enhanced command and control features and automated remote fire management. The full exercise at Măcin National Park was meticulously simulated, and an advanced VR training program is now being presented to stakeholders, led by partner SIMAVI.
