As the new EU mandate and the outcome of the US elections reshape the global balance, the strategic importance of Southeast Europe remains pivotal. The summit highlighted the partnerships forged in the region, which are crucial for Europe’s energy security and cohesion. Cyprus stands out as one of the few stable democracies in the Eastern Mediterranean, with a dynamic, outward-looking economy growing above the EU average. More specifically, the Plenary refers to the adoption of assessment reports for #Argentina and #Oman, enhanced inclusivity by inviting #Senegal and the #CaymanIslands, and updates on monitoring high-risk jurisdictions. Notably, Senegal exited increased monitoring after significant AML/CFT improvements, while #Algeria, #Angola, #CôtedIvoire, and #Lebanon joined.
