Securing funding can be one of the toughest challenges for early-stage startups. Here are 5 tips to help you succeed: 1. Know your numbers – Investors want to see clear financial projections and ROI potential. 2. Build relationships – Fundraising is as much about networking as it is about pitching. 3. Pitch the vision, not just the product – Share your big-picture vision to inspire investors. 4. Leverage your advisors – Introductions from credible advisors can make all the difference. 5. Stay persistent – If the first investor says no, keep pushing forward until you find the right match. #gravity #incubator #cyprus #entrepreneurs #marketleaders #innovation #visionaryminds

Finland - even cooler than you think? Some thoughts from #Slush Day 1. Validating an idea - Daniel Khachab * Cultivate a problem mindset - ideas limit. * Choose to tackle a complex and difficult problem rather than an easy one - we spend 58% of our time at work either way - might as well make it count. Exciting discoveries at HERlab! They're raising. Check them and their platform out. From lab to market: Scaling Hardtech Startups - Haïkel Balti, Kanyi Maqubela * Large fashion industries have pressing problems: environmental, sourcing, new customer types - searching for value-aligned brands and products. * Luxury pays attention to craftmanship, details and quality - biotech is exciting due to its specificity. * Science needs to work, new developments are key, proving scalability is crucial, and market traction is needed to thrive. * The first ever fully lab-grown leather bag revealed at @Slush. Deconstructing product-market fit - Vickie Peng, Zefi H. * Customer behaviour changes at the intersection with your product. * Key customer archetypes: hair on fire - need your help NOW; hard fact - sees no path towards solving this problem; future vision - "I'll believe it when I see it." * Sequoia published information on these profiles and much more! https://lnkd.in/ert92YTR Competitive advantage - Maria Angelidou-Smith * Recognising and rewarding positive behaviour should be top of your mind. * Know your customers deeply, continuously - track customer sentiment; scrappy and fast problem-solving - don't create dependencies; escalate freely to speed up decisions; High bar for craft - base your quality on your market strategy and context; * Don't confuse motion with progress - minimise processes, and have clear but ambitious goals. Atomico's State of European Tech Report is published! https://lnkd.in/e6eE6jXq Breaking Boundaries: SEE Tech Meets The World at Slush (by #BreakingGrounds) - Irina Obushtarova, Theodoros Loukaidis, Teodor Antonio Georgiev, Panagiotis Karampinis, Pavlina Yanakieva, Georgia Kleanthous, Stephane Gantchev, Jaroslav Ton * A gathering of key tech leaders and delegations from Southeast Europe, including Bulgaria, Cyprus (Ίδρυμα Έρευνας και Καινοτομίας/Research and Innovation Foundation), and Greece. Day 2 of #WebSummit2024 went deeper. Sticky thoughts: Press conference on the future of AI - Max Tegmark * AI cannot be the only unregulated industry. While the extent of Asimov's fundamental laws might not be needed to regulate effectively in reality - we know how to regulate, but it must be applied to AI. * Elon has been warning about AI risks, his position on loss of control has been rock solid until now. Hopefully, he’ll push for AI regulation in the US. * We have no idea how to go about controlling AGI. We're nowhere close. Safety standards can help us with the problem because now we can build AGI much faster than we can learn how to control it. Can we feed the world without killing it? - Puck van Holsteijn, Shely Aronov, Fabian Siegel * Food often gets romanticised. We don’t want to do medicine like we did 100 years ago, after all... Although consumers cannot save the planet on their own, impact is possible through informed, better decision-making at the individual level. Existing exciting tech needs to be deployed widely and fairly. * A dangerous topic - the small-bodied animal problem came up. From a GHG point of view, switching from cow to chicken meat makes sense, but ethically, such a change at a massive scale would require millions more chickens to be bred and killed for food. Is recycling fact or fiction? - Craig Douglas, Nina Shariati * Recycling is one of the last modes of action, it should not be positioned as the main approach. * Convincing people to consume less is difficult - ensuring that our products last longer can be more impactful. * Business incentives are necessary on top of regulation to boost the deployment of materials and products that are circular by design. The biodiversity crisis is a business crisis - David Diallo, Kalpana Arias * Governments and technologies cannot solve this crisis alone. Businesses have the advantage of deciding and moving fast – there is potential to step in - to protect and restore. * “If you’re not at the table, you’re on the menu!” Enabling stakeholders to be included in decision-making is key for holistic nature-based solutions. Climate action isn’t a fairytale - Craig Leeson, Deborah Brosnan, Xiye Bastida * Data and science are key and not arguable, but they must be communicated in relation to the concerns of the audience. Otherwise, the message will not be heard. * Inclusion is key. People affected need to be part of the storytelling. Dehumanisation: Some animals are more equal than others - Jolyon Rubinstein * The Overton window has been moved so far to the right that the conversations actively dehumanise people. * “Palestinians love life if they can live it.” * 10M people didn't vote in the US, alienated by the media discourse. Afraid of calling things out or simply despondent – demotivated by what’s happening. * The 21st century is still one drenched in misogyny. Are we strong and brave enough to stand up and break this destructive system down?
