The European Banking Authority (EBA) has released two comprehensive sets of guidelines aimed at bolstering the implementation of Union and national sanctions by financial institutions across the EU. For the first time, these guidelines set standardised expectations for governance, risk management, and operational controls, addressing critical vulnerabilities that expose institutions to legal and reputational risks.
