We are happy to announce the official launch and naming ceremony of the groundbreaking EVPLOIA APHRODITE zero emission ship, to be held in the presence of Shipping Deputy Minister Ms. Marina Hadjimanolis on October 24 at Larnaka Marina. EVPLOIA APHRODITE is a state-of-the-art, battery-driven, fully electric vessel, developed under the framework of the #ZEST project. This innovative vessel addresses the urgent need for decarbonization in Cyprus' coastal fleet, setting a new benchmark for sustainable and eco-friendly maritime transportation. The project is led by the CMMI - Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute, in close collaboration with Cypriot SMEs SignalGeneriX Ltd and 𝐅𝐏 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐋𝐭𝐝. SignalGeneriX Ltd has played a pivotal role in designing and manufacturing the vessel's advanced power management electronics, while FP Marine Ltd has contributed to the creation of the innovative design of the zero-emission boat. Their contributions highlight the expertise and capability of local Cypriot SMEs in delivering advanced technological solutions. The partnership between CMMI and these companies, supported by the RIF co-development program, showcases the power of collaboration between industry and research to drive sustainable innovation.
