As professional career, I am an associate director at KPMG Malta working within the external audit function and specialize is local private enterprise businesses. 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘂𝘀 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼. I am Rodoula Athanasiou, from Nicosia. I completed my ACCA accreditation in Cyprus and became an ACCA Member in 2004. Throughout my career at the Nicosia District Local Government Organisation, my expertise involves a profound knowledge of internal controls, financial processes, compliance requirements, and best practices to ensure the financial integrity and efficiency in the realms of internal audit, organizational health and safety, and procurement. As the Chief Accountant, I oversee the organization's financial records and prepare comprehensive financial statements maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory standards, following the IPSAS. My re-election as the ACCA IA Representative for a 2nd term showcases my strong leadership abilities and unwavering dedication to advancing the accounting profession both in Cyprus and globally. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗖𝗖𝗔 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿/𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲? ACCA is widely recognized as a symbol of professionalism and expertise in the finance sector. One of its most significant benefits is the flexibility it offers, allowing individuals to study part-time while balancing work and other commitments. It was a perfect fit for me many years ago. This flexibility has facilitated my growth in my current position and enabled me to transition into new roles effectively. The knowledge and skills gained through the ACCA qualification have equipped me to adapt to changes within the organization as a Financial Decision Maker. 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘂𝘀 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗷𝗼𝗯. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝗯𝗯𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆? Being a mother of two while pursuing triathlon training is both rewarding and demanding. Engaging in triathlons not only allows me to set a strong example for my children but also imparts essential values such as hard work, discipline, and perseverance. I also serve as a volunteer Accredited Gallery Docent at the A.G Leventis Gallery in Nicosia, which showcases remarkable art pieces from the Paris, Greek, and Cypriot collection dating back to the 16th century. Throughout the guide, I weave storytelling into the narrative of each painting, sharing their unique stories in my own style, despite not having a formal artistic background. 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸, 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗲, 𝗧𝗩 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄, 𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗯𝘂𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴. I suggest reading Eat That Frog by Brian Tracy. The concept of "eating that frog" refers to addressing your most difficult task first, which can significantly enhance your productivity and overall life satisfaction.
