We have successfully implemented a #bioremediation pilot testing of #contaminated soils at a former refinery in #Batumi in #Georgia. A pilot testing project for bioremediation entitled "First steps towards launching bioremediation technology in Georgia" was successfully implemented with the support of the UNDP with financial support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. Pilot tests were conducted in 2024, and on 21 November 2024, the project was concluded with a final workshop in Batumi for the professional public and government officials. The aim of the project was to test on a pilot scale #biodegradation as the main #remediation method for contaminated soils in the former #oil #refinery in Batumi. DEKONTA, a.s. in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance and Economy of the Autonomous Republic of #Adjara, successfully completed a project that will enable the Adjara Ministry to start the remediation of the entire refinery site. The site of the former refinery contains approximately 921,000 tonnes of contaminated soil. Bioremediation is a method that has not been used on such a large scale in Georgia. Pilot tests have delivered important results for the future restoration of the entire site, which will be part of the future development of the area from industrial to recreational use. The project was implemented under the "Partnership for Sustainable Development Goals #UNSDG between the #CzechRepublic and the United Nations Programme". 😊

Krátce po spuštění ostrého provozu recyklačního závodu na zpracování odpadních solárních panelů hostila nová technologie společnosti Dekonta, a.s. v Kralupech nad Vltavou exkurzi, pořádanou kolektivním systémem REsolar s.r.o. v rámci Evropského týdne udržitelného rozvoje (ETUR). Přítomné hosty z řad provozovatelů solárních elektráren, členů Solární asociace, státní správy, certifikačního orgánu WEEELABEX Organisation i zástupců mediálního prostoru přivítali paní ředitelka REsolaru Veronika Šilhová, provozní ředitel Václav Douda a za DEKONTA IC pan jednatel Vojtech Musil, který pak společně s Adam Titěra všechny přítomné novou technologií provedl. Druhý ročník této akce se opravdu vydařil. Těší nás, že se kapacita pro recyklaci odpadních solárních panelů v ČR navýšila a Dekonta IC přejeme bezvadný provoz a skvělé výsledky. ♻️

Dekonta is opening its own factory in #Ukraine through its subsidiary IPR Aqua s.r.o. It will focus on the production of mobile water treatment plants 🚰 "As a result of the Russian bombing, whole areas in Ukraine were destroyed and there was also serious damage to the water supply there. So, as soon as the invasion started, we knew that there would be a shortage of drinking water in the country," explains Pavel Mothejl, deputy chairman of the board of directors of Dekonta Holding. The site of the former #batumi 's #refinery in #georgia is an extensive #environmental burden close to the residential area of city. Dekonta, a.s. conducted a contamination survey and prepared a risk analysis and remediation project between 2021 and 2023. There are more than 800,000 tonnes of #contaminated soil at the site. The first Georgian pilot project on #bioremediation of contaminated soils, entitled "First steps towards launching bioremediation technology in Georgia", supervised by the UNDP with financial support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and implemented by Dekonta, a.s. was launched in December 2023 and is scheduled to run for 12 months. Pilot tests will provide important results crucial for the future remediation of the former refinery on a real scale. The project also aims to develop a methodological guideline for the implementation of the biodegradation method at other contaminated sites in Georgia.
