The Department of Spatial Planning organises a public lecture by Lukáš Makovský titled "Urban Planning from the Perspective of Urban Economics." The lecture will be held on Friday, November 8, at 6:15 p.m. in lecture hall 155 GOČÁR at the Faculty of Architecture, Czech Technical University in Prague. Lukáš Makovský is currently affiliated with the Department of Real Estate and Planning at the University of Reading and has extensive experience in studying the economic benefits and costs associated with the regulation of territorial development. Urban Economics Course Our Department of Spatial Planning at Faculty of Architecture CTU is opening a six-day course on urban economics for students of the master's and doctoral programmes at FA and for the wider professional public. The main lecturer is Ing. arch. Lukáš Makovský, M.A., Ph.D., from the Institute of Real Estate and Planning at the University of Reading. This November, the PhD conference People-City-Transport, organised by PhD students from our department, will take place for the second time, following its successful inaugural run last year. Join nearly twenty international PhD students who will present their research in urban studies and transport! The call for abstracts is open until September 15th! Conference annotation The People-City-Transport 2024 is a free PhD conference organised by PhD students for PhD students at Fakulta architektury ČVUT v Praze. The event is hybrid, both in place and online. The conference aims to allow PhD candidates and young researchers to discuss their research with senior researchers and practitioners. The conference focuses on urban mobility and aims to foster an interdisciplinary approach encompassing behavioural, sociological, environmental, and technical perspectives. This broad scope encourages knowledge transfer and the development of competencies to address current urban mobility issues. A conference book of extended abstracts will be issued.
