5,000 employees signed a petition against the return-to-office policy 😲 But let’s rewind a bit. ⏪ This is how it all started a.k.a. how Mark Read, CEO of the biggest advertising company WPP, announced the new mandate. 👇 "From the beginning of April this year, the expectation across WPP will be that most of us spend an average of four days a week in the office." To say the reaction wasn’t great would be an understatement. 😅 According to insider sources that talked to Sky News, employees argue this move will make it even harder to attract and retain talent—a challenge the advertising industry already struggles with. 🤷♀️ Many also see it as an indirect pay cut, with some staff facing thousands of pounds in extra commuting costs each year. 💲 It also didn’t help that the announcement was buried deep in the ninth paragraph of the memo. 🥲 This raises the question: Is there a right way to communicate leadership decisions like this without sparking backlash? And would it help if there was a discussion beforehand?

Ho-ho-ho! 🎅 Looks like Santa had one too many eggnogs at the reindeer party, so he's running a month late with the gifts… 🎁 But no judgement here, we’ve all been there! Anyway, here are three shiny new features in Dibsido, as little post-Christmas treats for you: ✨ Advanced statistics: Let’s talk numbers, shall we? With the latest Dibsido update, you can visualize office peak days and get even deeper insights into how much of your space isn’t being used (aka where you can save $$$ 💰). ✅ Check-in out of BETA: The QR check-in feature is officially live for everyone! When you arrive at the office, you can just scan the QR code at your hot desk to confirm your reservation. ✨ If you don’t check in, the desk gets freed up. Easy. 🚗 Multiple license plates: And for the grand finale—parking just got smarter. Now, every user in the app can save multiple license plates under their profile. This makes your reservation super fast and smooth. 🫶 And that’s all folks. Merry Christmas Afterparty, everyone!

🔵 Ever heard of digital presenteeism? It’s the rising pressure on employees 👉 especially remote and hybrid workers 👈 to maintain a constant online presence to show their productivity and commitment. In other words: We’ve created a culture, where nothing can stop us from working. 🥲 Not even being on vacation or being sick. You just grab your laptop, crawl into bed, and finish that “urgent” report. Easy, right? Here’s some eye-opening data from the Out of Office Culture Report by The Harris Poll 📋: 👉 60% of American workers admit they struggle to fully disconnect during time off. 👉 86% (!!) check emails while on vacation. 👉 56% take work-related calls during their time off. The result of digital presenteeism AKA our never-ending drive for nonstop productivity? Decreased performance and an increased risk of burnout. Hybrid work comes with plenty of perks, but it’s crucial to be aware of its downsides too. Make office management easier in hybrid times with the right tools. Like Dibsido. 🫶

Pt. 8: That managers often don’t trust their employees to actually work during remote days. 👀 There’s even a name for it: 👉 Productivity paranoia 👈 The leadership’s fear that people don’t do enough when they’re not in the office—even when meetings, billable hours, and completed tasks are all on the rise. 📈 🔵 How managers try to solve it: By introducing technologies to track activity instead of impact. But this often backfires, leading to behaviors like: 💬 Stressing over instant replies 🟢 Staying always “green” on Teams 🌙 Sending late-night emails to look like they’re always working. 🔵 What would really solve this? Thoughtful task management. Clearly defined assignments, detailed instructions, measurable outcomes, and success criteria. 📊 So that everyone knows what productivity actually looks like in their workplace. ✍️ Instead of relying on vague perceptions, let’s bring more data into hybrid offices. Which is exactly what we strive for at Dibsido—making office life easier. 🫶

Happy New Year, everyone! 🫶 This year, we’re embracing our minimalist side by skipping the usual New Year’s resolutions. Instead, we’re focusing on New Day’s resolutions. 😁 Here’s a quick guide that will help you plan your workdays: 🔵 Plan according to your environment Different workspaces suit different types of tasks. In an open-plan office, you’re naturally more collaborative and connected with your team. At home, it’s easier to focus on deep work and more complicated tasks. ✍️ If you work hybrid, take advantage of both environments to get the best of both worlds. 🔵 Use habit chaining Turn daily planning into a habit by linking it to something you already do. For example: “When I bring my morning coffee to my desk, I spend 5 minutes mapping out my day.” ☕ Pairing a new action with something you already enjoy makes it much easier to stick with. 🔵 Choose the right tools and silence the rest Mute social media notifications during focus hours and stick to technologies that truly boost your productivity. Like Dibsido—your go-to app for seamless desk and parking bookings.
