Toto prestižní ocenění získal za svůj mimořádný přínos v oblasti výzkumu spintroniky, která zásadně ovlivňuje moderní technologie. 👏 Na slavnostním ceremoniálu 23. ročníku soutěže uspěl také David Vojna, který získal Cenu Doctorandus za technické vědy za vývoj inovativních materiálů pro laserové systémy. 🌍 Could a new Silicon Valley emerge between Dresden and Ústí? This vision was at the center of the "The Semiconductor Heart of Europe Beat? How Czechia and Germany Aim to Achieve Strategic Sovereignty" event, held in Prague on November 6-7, 2024. 🇩🇪🤝🇨🇿 Hosted by the German Embassy Prague alongside Federal State of Saxony and the Freistaat Bayern, leaders from politics, academia and the semiconductor industry explored deepening collaboration in this critical sector. Antonin Fejfar highlighted the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republics' role in training students across universities and offering German students access to facilities like #CzechNanoLab, CEITEC Nano Research Infrastructure in Brno, and #LNSM in Prague—opening doors for immediate research cooperation. 💼 The International Scientific Advisory Board meeting for the PJAK #SenDiSo project was held on 7–8 November, affording us the opportunity to present the project's preliminary findings. The feedback from international experts and industry representatives has enabled us to refine the project's focus, concentrating on three key priorities: 🔸enhancing the international scope of research, 🔸strengthening scientific teams and 🔸optimising the commercial exploitation of results. 💔It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of the eminent plasma physicist and research leader, Karel Jungwirth.  In 2001–2006 he was the Director of the Institute of Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and until May 2007 he was responsible for its management. In 2003–2008 he was the Czech delegate to ESFRI - European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures at the European Commission. 🌠 Včera večer se konečně umoudřilo počasí na La Palmě a podařilo se nám získat aktuální snímek komety přes náš dalekohled #FRAM (objektiv 135 mm f/2 s elektronickou CCD kamerou). Snímek byl pořízen asi hodinu po západu Slunce. 🌠Nepropásněte jedinečnou podívanou na obloze. Kometa je viditelná i od nás! Zhruba hodinu po západu Slunce, okolo 19:00, nízko nad západním obzorem. Ale pozor, kometa rychle slábne, takže pokud ji chcete vidět v plné kráse, měli byste si pospíšit. A ano, je pozorovatelná pouhým okem, dokonce i z měst! CERN, Evropská laboratoř fyziky částic, místo, kde se v roce 1989 zrodil web a v roce 2012 byl objeven Higgsův boson, slaví 70 let od svého založení. Pracovníci Fyzikálního ústavu se již od 60. let minulého století aktivně podíleli na experimentech.
