The Road Less Hustled You’re here because, like us, you’ve probably had it up to here with the “more, more, more” mantra. More followers, more sales, more hours... But when does it become enough? You started this journey with a dream to create something of your own, to have the freedom to live on your terms, and somehow, you’ve ended up feeling trapped in an endless cycle of never enough. Here’s the Hard Truth: The business world is full of advice that’s more about keeping up appearances than real success. It’s exhausting, it’s overwhelming, and frankly, it’s BS. _______ Why We Started This We’ve been there, staring at our screens at 2 AM, wondering if this is what we really signed up for. We craved simplicity, honesty, and yes, we wanted to make money, but not at the cost of our sanity or soul. We needed a way out of the rat race, a path to doing business that felt right. And when we couldn’t find it, we created it. Welcome to Modern Business Mastery - your breath of fresh air.

  • Let’s be real—refunds can feel terrifying for a solopreneur. When it’s just you and every client counts, offering a money-back guarantee can feel like walking a tightrope with no net. But here’s the flipside—without some guarantees, your buyer can feel like they're up against a bed of nails. 📸 Yes, that’s me in the photo pushing my kung-fu colleague onto a bed of nails—he’s totally fine with it, but our clients? They still need peace of mind before they say “yes.” There are plenty of ways to reduce the risk without resorting to refunds. It’s all about creating trust and confidence. Clients don’t want to gamble with their investment. They need to feel safe, especially if they've been burned before. If you can’t ease their mind, they’ll find someone who will. When you offer security, clients are more likely to commit, and commit faster. Less back and forth. More action. And guess what? There are smarter ways to make your clients feel secure without risking your business. Here’s a quick rundown of the 7 ways you can reduce risk: 1️⃣ Show Your Work – Offer transparency through regular updates and check-ins. 2️⃣ Skin in the Game – Tie part of your payment to their results. 3️⃣ Try Before You Buy – Provide a low-risk entry point, like a mini project. 4️⃣ Staggered Payments – Spread out financial commitments over time. 5️⃣ I've Got Your Back – Offer extended support beyond the project. 6️⃣ Peer Pressure Proof – Leverage social proof with case studies or past client connections. 7️⃣ Customized Guarantees – Tailor guarantees to individual client needs. I also share some of my refund/no refund favorites that make the offer refund safer for you too. These strategies can help you calm buyer anxiety without putting your business on the line. Want the full version? Dive into all the details in this week’s newsletter.

  • A No-Fuss Guide to Sales Planning We’ve officially started mapping out our 2025 sales plan in M360, and I want to give you a sneak peek at what we’re doing because now’s the time to get ahead of the game. Here’s the deal: your 2025 revenue goals don’t have to be wishful thinking.  They can be a clear path you follow, one step at a time, with the right planning. Here’s how we’re tackling it, and I promise it's easier than assembling IKEA furniture: Step 1: Dream Big (But Realistically) 🎯 Action: Grab a piece of paper and write down how much money you want to make in 2025.  👉 Pro Tip: Think about what you made this year, then ask yourself, "What would feel amazing but not impossible?" Step 2: Break It Down 🎯 Action: Divide your yearly number by 4. That's your quarterly goal.  👉 Pro Tip: If your yearly goal is $100,000, each quarter's goal is $25,000. See? Math can be friendly! Step 3: What Are You Selling? 🎯 Action: List out everything you plan to sell next year. Services, products, that course you've been dreaming about – all of it.  👉 Pro Tip: Star the items you think will bring in the most money. These are your VIPs (Very Important Products/Services). Step 4: When Are You Selling It? 🎯 Action: Get a calendar (digital or paper or the one we use HERE, whatever floats your boat) and mark: Ongoing stuff (like your 1-on-1 services) Special launches or promotions (like that course you're planning) Time you want off (because life isn't all about work, right?)  👉 Pro Tip: Use different colors. It's not just fun; it helps you see your year at a glance! Step 5: Set Some Checkpoints 🎯 Action: At the end of each quarter (or month if you're saucy) write "CHECK-IN TIME!" on your calendar. 👉 Pro Tip: This is your moment to see if you're on track or if you need to tweak things. No judgment, just adjustment! Step 6: Plan Your Money Moves 🎯 Action: For each product or service, figure out how many sales you need to hit your revenue goals for each quarter. Break it down into manageable numbers so you know exactly what you're aiming for. 👉 Pro Tip: This isn’t just about hoping for sales. Look at your pricing and capacity. For example, if you want to make $25,000 in Q1 and your service is $2,000, you need to secure 13 clients in that quarter. Step 7: Get the Word Out 🎯 Action: For each thing you're selling, write down 3 ways you'll let people know about it.  👉 Pro Tip: Keep it simple. Think social media posts, emails to your list, or good old-fashioned networking. 🎙️ Real Talk: A full marketing plan has way more moving parts to truly match your sales goals, but that’s a whole other conversation. For now, focus on getting the basics in place! And remember, this isn't set in stone.  It's a roadmap, not a cage. 📸 A lovely bike road through the Czech countryside

  • Waking up early is as close to a life cheat code as you'll find. I know, I know—"Oh great, another early bird sermon on the 5am club"  Relax, I'm not recruiting for some pre-dawn cult. I don't care if it's 5 AM or 6:30 AM... But here's the no-BS truth: science, biology, and your own dang brain are all screaming for you to get up earlier. Why?  Glad you asked: 🕔 Your Body Clock Isn't Lying: That circadian rhythm isn't just a fancy term. It's your personal energy GPS, and it's begging you to sync up with the sun. Early rise = energy optimize. It's that simple. 🕔Brain on Fire (the good kind): Morning cognitive function is like your brain on steroids. Complex problem-solving? Creative breakthroughs? Your AM grey matter is the MVP for that. 🕔Stress? What Stress?: Early risers are swimming in lower cortisol levels. Translation? You start your day cool as a cucumber, ready to tackle whatever dumpster fire awaits. ➕ Bonus: Interruption Free Zone Early morning is your chance to own your time before the world starts chipping away at it. No notifications, no "quick questions," just you and your goals having a private powwow. 🦉 Now, before you hit me with that "But I'm a night owl!" line, let's get real: Only about 8-15% of people are genuine nocturnal creatures. The rest of us?  We're just sleep-schedule rebels without a cause.  And spoiler alert: that rebellion comes with a side of mental and physical health impacts. Yay. 😒 Look, I'm not saying you need to join the 5 AM high-five club.  But giving yourself a head start on the day? That's just smart business. This isn't about forcing yourself into some crack-of-dawn boot camp.  Even a small shift can be a game-changer. Ready to give it a shot? 👇Here are some baby steps to get you started PICK ONE to try this weekend: 😎 The Gradual Shift Challenge: Move your wake-up time 5 minutes earlier each day for a week. Track your energy levels and productivity. 😎The Morning Ritual Challenge: Create a 10-minute morning routine (e.g., meditation, journaling, stretching) and stick to it for 5 days. Note how it impacts your day. 😎The No-Screen Morning Challenge: For the first hour after waking, avoid all screens. Use this time for planning, reading, or exercise instead. 😎The Early Bird Gets the Task Done Challenge: Identify your most important task for the day and complete it before 9am for a full week. 😎The Early Morning Connection Challenge: Use your extra morning time to connect with a friend, family member, or mentor (in a different time zone) for a week. Catch you on the flip side, hopefully before noon. 📸 (btw that's a pic of our Founder Tanya MFK trying to "catch the sun" in Goa, India)

  • Non Attachment: A Guide for Solopreneurs Let's have a heart-to-heart about something crucial: your worth as a person and how it's not tied to your business outcomes. READ THAT AGAIN (no really, read it again) You Are More Than Your Business First things first: You are not your business.  📸 Btw: That's me in the pic training Wing Chun in Kunyu Shan, China. You're a whole person with dreams, fears, talents, and quirks. Your business is something you do, not who you are. This distinction is vital for your well-being and, ironically, for your business success. Attachment is a Trap It's easy to fall into the trap of tying your self-worth to your business outcomes.  A good month feels like you're on top of the world; a bad month feels like personal failure.  But here's the truth: Your value doesn't fluctuate with your revenue. Embracing Non-Attachment Non-attachment doesn't mean not caring.  It means caring deeply about your work without letting it define you.  It's about having goals and ambitions while understanding that you're worthy, regardless of the outcome. How to Practice Non-Attachment (While Still Crushing It) Set Goals, But Hold Them Lightly Do: Set ambitious goals for your business. Don't: Tie your self-worth to achieving them. Action Step: Write down your biggest business goal, then write, "I am worthy and valuable, regardless of whether I achieve this." Celebrate the Process, Not Just the Outcome Do: Acknowledge your efforts and progress. Don't: Only celebrate when you hit big milestones. Action Step: At the end of each day, write down three things you did that moved your business forward, no matter how small. Diversify Your Identity Do: Nurture other aspects of your life. Don't: Let your business become your whole world. Action Step: Schedule time each week for a non-business activity you love. Protect this time like you would a client meeting. Practice Self-Compassion Do: Treat yourself with kindness, especially when things don't go as planned. Don't: Engage in negative self-talk when facing setbacks. Action Step: When you face a business challenge, ask yourself, "How would I comfort a friend in this situation?" Then do that for yourself. Focus on What You Can Control Do: Put your energy into your actions and efforts. Don't: Obsess over outcomes you can't control. Action Step: Make a list of 5 things in your business you can directly control (like your work ethic, learning new skills) and 5 things you can't (like market trends, client decisions). Focus on the first list. Remember: You're Playing the Long Game Your business is a journey, not a destination.  There will be ups and downs, victories and setbacks. By practicing non-attachment, you're building resilience that will serve you well in business and in life. You've got this, and more importantly, you're already enough – successful business or not. Now go out there and create something amazing, knowing that your worth is secure no matter what happens.

  • Let's cut to the chase: It's September. Tea Time is Over! What are you not doing that you know you should be? What are you doing that you know you shouldn't? We've all got those nagging tasks we're avoiding. The ones that make us squirm. There's 4 months left (that's both a lot and a little time) to make something happen. Maybe it's: Finally setting up that email funnel Reaching out to that intimidating potential client Letting go of a project that's not serving you anymore Actually tracking your expenses (yep, we see you) Or maybe you're stuck in the comfort zone of: 🛀 Endless "research" without taking action 🛀Perfectionism that's really just fear in disguise 🛀Saying yes to clients who drain your energy 🛀Scrolling social media instead of creating content Here's the deal: Successful Solopreneurs aren't fearless. They're just better at doing it even if they're scared. So, before the month is out: 1️⃣ Identify ONE thing you're avoiding 2️⃣ Break it into stupidly small steps 3️⃣ Do the first step TODAY No excuses. No procrastination. Just action. Remember, future you is counting on present you to get uncomfortable, to push through, to do the hard things. What will you tackle this month that your future self will thank you for? Make it real. Write it down. Drop it in a comment below if you're really feeling saucy. Put it out there. Hold yourself accountable. Now, go make September count.

  • Cut the Nonsense: Why Clarity is Your Ticket to Freedom "Clarity is freedom. Know what is important to you and it will grant you the freedom to ignore everything else." Let's be real for a second.  We're all drowning in a sea of noise, constantly bombarded by shoulds, coulds, and would-be-nice-tos. It's exhausting, right? But here's the thing – most of that stuff? It doesn't matter. Not even a little bit. That's where clarity comes in. It's like a machete for your mind, hacking through the jungle of nonsense that's keeping you stuck. When you know – really know – what's important to you, something magical happens. Suddenly, you've got permission to say "nah" to everything else. As Ice Cube Said:  "Check Yo'Self before you wreck Yo'self" 👉 How much of your day is spent on things that don't align with your values or goals? 👉How often do you say yes to stuff just because you feel like you should? It's time to cut that out. Clarity isn't just about knowing what you want. It's about embracing the power of "no." It's about being okay with disappointing people who want you to live by their priorities. It's about unapologetically pursuing what matters to you. So here's your homework this weekend Figure out what's actually important to you. * Write it down. * Stick it on your fridge. * Tattoo it on your forehead if you have to. Then use that clarity as a filter for every decision you make for the next 7 days. Trust me, the freedom you'll feel when you stop giving 2 cents to the unimportant stuff? It's worth its weight in gold. So get clear, get focused, and watch how quickly the noise fades away. Your future, less-stressed self will thank you.

  • Unpacking Your Product - What Does it Really Do? 🔎 Product Microscope🔎 Now that we looked at features and benefits of our products, let's take a step back to articulate clearly what your product actually is. It’s crucial, especially when you’re in the trenches of marketing and sales, to have a crystal-clear picture of your product’s identity. What is Your Product? Start with the basics: What is your product or service at its core? Is it a physical item, a digital software, an educational course, or a hands-on service? Understanding this foundation helps in aligning all further development and marketing strategies. What Does It Actually Do? Detail exactly what your product does.  No dynamic descriptions, or industry jargon.   Just clear understanding.  How does it function? If it’s a course, what will the customer learn or achieve by the end? If it’s a physical product, what are its uses? This is where you get into the nuts and bolts of operation and utility. Types of Product Delivery Consider the different ways your product can be delivered to your customers. Is it a one-time purchase, a recurring subscription, or a tiered service model? Each method has its own implications for how you engage with customers and how they perceive value. The Essence of Your Product Finally, it's essential to communicate the 'soul' of your product. What philosophy or core value is it built upon? This can often be a decisive factor for customers aligning with your brand. Action Steps: Now that we've broken down the key aspects of understanding your product, it's time for you to roll up your sleeves and get to work. Here's your no-nonsense action plan: 👣 Elevator Pitch Challenge: Craft a 30-second explanation of what your product is and does. No fluff, just facts. Time yourself and refine until it's razor-sharp. 👣Feature-Function-Benefit Matrix: Create a simple spreadsheet. List your product's features in one column, what each feature does in the second, and the direct benefit to your customer in the third. Ruthlessly eliminate any row that doesn't have a clear benefit. 👣Value Proposition Stress Test: Ask 5 people in your target market to review your product description. If they can't immediately articulate its value, it's back to the drawing board. 👣Competitive Analysis Speed Round: Set a timer for 30 minutes. In that time, identify your top 3 competitors and list how your product differs. Be brutally honest about where you fall short and where you shine. Your ability to clearly define and articulate your product is directly linked to your bottom line. So, stop reading and start doing. Your future customers (and bank account) will thank you.
