Zentiva participated in the 2nd Annual Meeting of the Critical Medicines Alliance, where key stakeholders gathered to discuss recommendations for the upcoming Critical Medicines Act, set to be announced in March 2025. Our Corporate Affairs Manager, Tomas Pala, represented Zentiva in discussions focused on securing Europe’s access to essential medicines. We were inspired by the Alliance’s commitment to supporting EU-based production, boosting supply chain resilience, and enhancing strategic autonomy for critical medicines. Key topics included: ✅ Strengthening EU manufacturing capacity ✅ Improving supply chain resilience ✅ Strategies for stockpiling and procurement to ensure medicines are readily available during crises While the strategic recommendations are strong, we noticed a gap in the discussions: the need for clear, actionable steps to implement these recommendations. Ensuring EU production, robust stockpiling, and procurement systems requires not just plans, but concrete actions to turn these strategies into reality. At Zentiva, we remain committed to working alongside industry leaders and policymakers to make sure these goals don’t just stay on paper but become real. Today, we proudly join the United Nations in celebrating the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. Meet Ardita, one of the many inspiring women at Zentiva who have chosen a career in science.   At Zentiva, we operate two R&D centers in Prague and Ankleshwar. Our dedicated team actively manages the life cycle of active pharmaceutical ingredients and drives innovation in drug product formulation. We focus on bioequivalent and value-added medicines, as well as Green Design solutions. As a founding member of the Pharmaceutical Applied Research Center (The PARC), Zentiva offers a postgraduate program to bridge the gap between academic and industrial research. Zentiva's Leadership Meeting last week in Munich hosted our Sustainability Pop-Up Exhibition, this time focused on the topic of Circular Economy. Together, we learned about the differences between a linear economy and a circular economy, and we analyzed the recyclability of everyday packaging materials. The highlight was the presentation by our partners at Liveo Research, showcasing their innovative sustainable packaging solutions for medicines. Zentiva joins the community today to raise awareness against cancer. This year’s theme is “United by Unique” and highlights the unique stories of resilience and hope behind every diagnosis. According to the European Cancer Atlas, 4 million new cancer cases are diagnosed each year. This includes a wide range of cancers, with breast, colorectal, lung, and prostate cancers being the most common.  We support people and their loved ones by providing high-quality and affordable medicines to those who depend on them; we support health care professionals and nurses with educational initiatives.    Everyone has a role in the fight against cancer. Early awareness and detection are crucial in the fight against cancer. Detecting cancer at an early stage significantly improves treatment outcomes and survival rates. Zentiva is proud, that our API Development Team has become a partner of the GreenChemForCE project, a part of the Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE Programme co-funded by the European Union. The project is led by Charles University, other academic and industrial partners are from the Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary and Slovenia. The project GreenChemForCE aims to unify the industrial and academic sectors to achieve greener chemical production in Central Europe by developing strategies and solutions for more sustainable processes and resource management, which will result in reduced pollution and minimized environmental damage in the region. Moreover, our intention is to encourage the regional chemical companies to adopt circularity principles in production and to help a better reception of the chemical industry by the general public. #Partnerships #Sustainability #GreenChemistry

This is why Zentiva is celebrating today’s clean energy day and our efforts to contribute to a healthier planet. 🌍 The International Day of Clean Energy is a call to raise awareness and mobilize action for a just and inclusive transition to clean energy for the benefit of people and the planet. The science is clear: to limit climate change, we need to end our reliance on fossil fuels and invest in alternative sources of energy that are clean, accessible, affordable, sustainable, and reliable.   Adopting clean energy is integral to the fight against climate change. A large chunk of the greenhouse gases that blanket the Earth and trap the Sun’s heat are generated through energy production, by burning fossil fuels (oil, coal, and gas) to generate electricity and heat.   Our European Manufacturing Sites are powered by 100 % renewable energy. Step by step we are increasing the amount of photovoltaic on our roof tops to contribute with our very own source of energy.
