    Global Game Jam 2025!

  • Global Game Jam 2025 - 4CE2BE participates at MEDIEN-CAMPUS Dieburg 🎉🎮 THEME this year is BUBBLES 🧼🐳 Here are some further details and tips on how to create a quick and compelling game concept in small teams: Global Game Jam 2025 Information: Duration: The Global Game Jam 2025 runs from January 24th to January 26th, 2025, with each venue having 48 hours to develop games. ⏳ Location: There are both physical and online events happening worldwide. 🌐 Participants: Anyone can participate, regardless of their experience level in game development. Creativity and enthusiasm are more important than professional skills. 🎨✨ Tips for Creating a Game Concept: Brainstorming: Quick Idea Generation: Start with a rapid brainstorming session where everyone in the team contributes ideas related to the theme. Use methods like mind mapping or the 6-3-5 method (six people, three ideas, five minutes per round). 💡👥 Theme Relevance: Remember that the game must relate to the theme, so let it inspire your imagination but don't be too restrictive to foster creativity. 🌟 Simplifying the Concept: Minimal Viable Product (MVP): Focus on creating a game that is playable and fun with the least amount of features. Complexity can be added later if time permits. 🧩 Simple Mechanics: Choose game mechanics that are easy to implement and understand. Games like Pong or Snake are classic examples of simple mechanics that are still engaging. 🎾🐍 Teamwork and Role Distribution: Clarity: Assign roles based on the strengths of team members (programming, design, storytelling, sound). 🧑💻👩🎨 Communication: Constant exchange is crucial. Make clear agreements on how often and when the team will meet to discuss progress. 🗣️📅 Prototyping: Quick Prototype: Create a playable prototype as soon as possible. This gives the team a feel for the game and allows for early feedback loops. 🏗️ Iterate: Be ready to refine the concept based on what works. 🔄 Inclusivity and Acceptance: Participant Interest: Ensure the game concept is exciting for all team members. Lack of enthusiasm from anyone can affect team dynamics. 🤝 Diversity: Try to develop a game that can be enjoyed by a diverse group of people. This promotes acceptance and enriches the game through different perspectives. 🌍🎭 Time Management: Deadline Awareness: With only 48 hours available, time management is key. Plan how much time will be spent on each phase (idea, prototype, refinement). ⏰ Breaks: Don't forget to schedule breaks to keep creativity flowing without burning out. 🍵 By following these tips, you can ensure that your team not only creates a game that does justice to the theme of the Global Game Jam 2025 but also goes through a process that is satisfying and educational for everyone involved. Let's make some awesome games! 🚀🎮 #GGJ #h_da #mediencampus #Dieburg #GameDev #InfoPlanter Adalbert Kitzig

Play the System& erschaffe spielerische und unvergessliche Produkte, die deine Kunden bewegen. Gamification & Innovation – für Erlebnisse, Prozesse & Produkte, die Emotionen wecken, Kunden begeistern und Umsatz bringen.

Emotions are just as essential in real life as they are in games. Yet, in business, we’re constantly told to suppress them. You’re too loud. Too much. Too emotional. Emotions don’t belong in the workplace – or so they say. We’re trained to ignore our gut feelings, suppress our creative genius, and instead focus on tasks that machines are already better at. No surprise that people fear being replaced by AI when they’re doing work a machine can do faster and more efficiently. But humans aren’t built to work like machines. We’re here to create, to solve problems, to explore new ideas – and, most importantly, to identify patterns, improve them, and make the world a better place. That’s the promise games gave me. They taught me that emotions, creativity, and innovation aren’t weaknesses. They’re what make us truly human. Stay curious. Stay playful! Jay

The Gandalf of Games, inspiring game devs to step out their door into grand adventures ✨ Building the #indierevolution 👾 Eternal advocate for indie & junior devs 🗣️ Launch games with us 🏰

I recently had the pleasure to talk about "Double I" and "Single A" sized game studios with Gerald Ford of The Corner of Story and Game, and decided to update the Indie Game Academy Game Studio Venn Diagram with the new concept! As AAA studios and publishers pull back on funding, it truly seems to be the time of Indie. Between 2023 and 2024 VC funding for game companies dropped by 75%. While numbers like these can be scary, this is actually a hidden opportunity for us Indies. Games like Helldivers 2, Palworld and Balatro prove that the Indie can have ultra successful titles that feel and play like AAA games. This trend is what we tend to call "Double I" or "Single A" in recognition of Indies going above and beyond what we ever thought an Independent game studio could make. This to me is so inspiring! It is the time of the #indierevolution What do you think? Will the trend of the Double I continue? Do you think it's a silly term, or does it deserve a place? Repost if you learned something! 💜 ➡️ Here is a high quality PDF version of the chart: https://lnkd.in/ekdYJqQE #gamedev #indiedev #gamedevelopment #AAA #indiegames #indiestudio #doublei #ii #gaming #gamedevelopment #gamedeveloper #gamedevelopers #gaming #gamingindustry #publishing
