As a next step, they are also exploring technologies to achieve negative CO2 emissions. "Development of high thermal efficiency methanol engine" by Ragnar Burenius – Aurobay Sweden: The presentation highlights the development of high thermal efficiency methanol and hydrogen engines as part of a carbon-neutral fuel solution for hybrid powertrains, emphasizing that achieving zero emissions requires a collaborative effort, not competition between technologies. "PHINIA 500bar Gasoline direct injection (GDi) system from development to serial production." by Baudouin Gomot – PHINIA: To meet stricter emissions regulations, the PHINIA 500bar GDi system, entering mass production in 2024, offers improved combustion efficiency, reduced emissions, and compatibility with hybrid powertrains and sustainable fuels.     🚀 Exciting News from the 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗽𝘂𝗹𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗖𝗠𝗣)! 🌍 We are thrilled to announce the expansion of our ammonia testing infrastructure to four 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗡𝗛𝟯 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀. These facilities enable cutting-edge research with: - 40 bar feed pressure for 𝗹𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗱 𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗮 - 20 bar pressure for 𝗴𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗮 Our latest 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀 from a 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲-𝗰𝘆𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘃𝘆-𝗱𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲 are now available and provide key insights into the potential of ammonia as a clean and efficient future energy carrier. It highlights the potential of these fuels for decarbonizing heavy machinery while addressing challenges like emissions optimization and combustion stability. "Aftertreatment of H2 engine: a novel approach focusing on the specific attributes of the H2 engine & cost optimisation" by Evangelos Georgiadis – Dinex A/S: Mr. Georgiadis focuses on aftertreatment solutions for hydrogen internal combustion engines, addressing their specific attributes and exploring pathways to cost and emissions optimization. The presentation highlights innovative approaches to adapt existing technologies for hydrogen engines, ensuring compliance with stringent emission standards while maintaining efficiency. We would like to give you a brief insight into these presentations: "Supercharger Boosting on H2 ICE for Heavy Duty application" by Nicola Andrisani – Eaton srl: Research into green hydrogen as a fuel for internal combustion engines offers great potential for reducing CO2 emissions from commercial vehicles. Eaton shows how compressor technology can improve power output and transient response to accelerate the adoption of H2 engines for heavy-duty commercial vehicles. "Hydrogen Combustion Engine for commercial vehicle applications : challenges and solutions for various use cases" by Joël Op de Beeck – OPmobility: Achieving net-zero CO2 emissions in commercial transport calls for immediate solutions beyond electric vehicles. OPmobility's study highlights hydrogen combustion engines as a promising option, focusing on storage and emission controls to meet Euro 7 standards. "HyMot: H2 Engine optimized for Light Commercial Vehicle Applications with Near-Zero Emissions" by Jean-Baptiste Leroy – Bosch: The HyMot project, backed by ADEME and led by key industry players, is pioneering an advanced hydrogen engine specifically for the upper range of light commercial vehicles. This engine aims to match diesel performance while achieving near-zero emissions, with a full demo vehicle in the works. "H2-ICE, A route to rapid decarbonisation with air quality co-benefits, for the NRMM sector" by Lukas Virnich – FEV Europe GmbH in cooperation with JCB: The JCB "Off-Road to Zero" presentation (shown at ACK by FEV) highlights the company's innovative hydrogen combustion engine technology for non-road machinery, achieving near-zero emissions while maintaining robust performance.
