We sold our first two Battery Projects in South Africa 🔋 After developing the two projects into ready to build status, we sold the rights to the utility company EDF. The projects are located near Aggeneys in the Northern Cape province and near Vryburg in the North West province respectively. Both projects will be stand-alone battery storage systems with a power output of 77 megawatts each and a corresponding storage capacity of 308 megawatt hours. #Storage #Renewables #SouthAfrica #BatteryStorage #Energy

Some months ago, we changed our name from ABO Wind to ABO Energy. That also meant we had to redesign our Give Aways. But what to do with the old ones? 💡 Our colleagues from UK and Northern Ireland had a great idea: They donated the old ABO Wind tote bags to local foodbanks. For each of our three office locations in Slough, Falkirk and Lisburn, the local foodbank received around 500 bags to pack food supplies for people in crisis. We are glad to be able to support this important work! Three - that's the number of new projects won by ABO Energy France in the latest call for tenders for “Ground-mounted photovoltaic power plants” published by the Commission de régulation de l'énergie (French Energy Regulatory Commission). 🌞   This achievement places us among the top 5 renewable energy companies chosen for this tender! The three farms have a total capacity of over 55 MW. These projects are located in three different French departments: Charente, Côte d'Or, and Yonne, demonstrating ABO Energy's nationwide coverage. At ABO Energy, transparency with the community is at the heart of our projects. 💡 On November 9, 2024, we held an Open House for the Berg I Wind Farm project in Arraya de Oca, Burgos, Spain. This wind farm, with a total capacity of 49.76 MW, is expected to produce enough energy annually to power 55,000 homes and reduce CO2 emissions by 74,500 tons. The project includes eight wind turbines, a wind measurement tower, a sectioning center, and an underground high-voltage line. 🌬 The Open House invited landowners, mayors, municipal corporation members, public administration, and the general community through letters, emails, and posters on local notice boards. Informational panels and our team of experts were available to answer questions, listen to feedback, and provide detailed insights into the project. We were present in Poland at the EuroPOWER & OZE (RES) POWER Energy Conference last week. ⚡ During this conference, we were addressing the most pressing challenges and opportunities in the energy sector in Poland and the Central and Eastern Europe region. We were specifically engaged in the following discussion: ▪ Energy storage – the key to the future development of the photovoltaic sector ▪ Wind farms – from regulations to practice – how to overcome barriers and increase production? ▪ The future of energy routes – challenges and strategies for the development of distribution networks in Poland ▪ Energy transition costs for the Polish industry This event serves as a great platform for public consultations, bringing together government officials, international scientists, renewable energy industry leaders, and associations to collaboratively shape the future of the energy sector in the European Union and Poland. 🌳 Thank you to our colleagues Ewa Rogalska and Natalia Ciupak-Jabłońska for their participations in this conference. Discover our largest solar park in Germany. ☀ Producing as much green electricity as around 16,300 people consume in their homes each year, our largest solar park in Germany to date is the 25 megawatt peak plant in Habscheid, located in the Eifel district of Bitburg-Prüm in Rhineland-Palatinate.
