🌱 The recent launch of the all new H200 headphones marks an important milestone for ADAM Audio on our journey to reduce and neutralize product Green House Gas emissions to be carbon neutral by 2030 [as per the Environmental Strategy of the Focusrite PLC]. Therefore, we are happy to announce that the H200 is the most economically friendly product in ADAM Audio’s history of 25 years. Our product managers, acoustic and mechanical design engineers and our trusted suppliers have worked tirelessly to create a professional studio headphone that not only excels in its price range in terms of performance and comfort, but they also managed to maximize the use of recycled or recyclable materials. Here are some examples of the components and measures taken to make the H200’s environmental footprint as small as possible: 👉 The Headphone Itself: The headphone body consists of 85 % post-consumer recycled ABS plastic, without compromising on durability or high-quality haptics of the product. Additionally, many components exposed to wear, and tear can be replaced: This includes ear pads, the headband padding and the detachable cable. The replaceable parts extend the headphone’s lifespan and reduce electronic waste should a customer ever wish to dispose of the H200. 👉 Product Packaging: Packaging is a necessity to ensure that the product inside gets from its place of manufacture to the end-customer in perfect condition. But ideally it also provides useful information, and it should be practical as much as easy on the eye. With this in mind, our design efforts have also resulted in a completely recyclable product packaging without the use of any plastics. From paper wrapped cable ties, to renewable and biodegradable soy-based ink to a retail hanger made from folded cardboard – no stone has been left unturned to find a more sustainable solution. The cloth of the included carry bag is starch based and therefore fully compostable. This is one of our efforts to embed ourselves in the circular economy.
