Installation of our adhesively bonded glass-to-concrete walkway completed! This demonstrator, named G2C (glass-to-concrete), is the result of a collaboration between the Magnel-Vandepitte Laboratory of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture UGent of Ghent University (Belgium), the department of structural adhesives of fischerwerke GmbH & Co. KG (Germany) and vitroplena (Belgium). The demonstrator, named G2C, explores the potential of structurally bonding glass to concrete, presenting a modern alternative to traditional mechanical connections while offering enhanced aesthetical appearance and performance benefits. The prototype showcases several key applications of this innovative bonding technique using ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) and laminated glass. Experience this innovative walkway firsthand at #GlasstecGlasstec #2024 from 22 October till 25 October. Visit us at the #GlassTechnologyLive stand (#Hall11, #F27) to learn more about the future of glass technology and the transformative potential of the G2C project. Ghent University: ir.-arch.
