🚀 Augmented Reality: Shaping the future of technology! ✨    Did you know that Augmented Reality is rapidly transforming industries, from entertainment to education and beyond? It's an absolute game-changer. AR blends digital content with the real world, allowing users to interact with programmed visuals overlaid on their physical environment.     Unlike virtual reality, AR enhances the world around you instead of creating a fully immersive digital environment. The fusion of the physical and digital world offers endless possibilities not only for gaming experiences, but much, much more! 🎮    One of our initiatives is the SPIELEND project, a collaborative research endeavor with four universities. SPIELEND, which stands for “Soziale Präsenz durch immersive, emotionale und lebendige Erfahrungen von Nähe auf Distanz” (Social presence through immersive, emotional, and lively experiences of closeness at a distance), aims to explore how AR can foster social proximity through interactive gameplay. This research focuses on understanding how AR technology can enhance emotional connections and presence, even when participants are physically distant. RoboHeart has been a project that is close to our hearts here at Augmented Robotics. This project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund [ERDF]. In the RoboHeart project, technology is being researched that allows any object to be integrated into augmented reality. The dynamic interaction of the real 🌍 and the virtual 🌐 objects is central. Reality connects with virtual worlds, opening up new dimensions in the gaming industry. 🎮 To make this possible, two pieces are needed: 1. A universally usable radio module 📡 that can control any radio-controlled toys. 2. A neural network 🧠 that can detect fast-moving objects in the camera focus of a smartphone. 📱 The radio module transmits the controls from the user's smartphone to the car, allowing it to be navigated simply with the smartphone. The smartphone serves as a window into the virtual world, which becomes ever closer to reality through the interactivity of the toys. ✨
