AZO - Space of Innovation hat dies direkt geteilt
The nominations for the 𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐄𝐎 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐨𝐨𝐧. This award celebrates the innovative use of Earth Observation (EO) data by early-stage researchers. As Simonetta Cheli, the European Space Agency - ESA's Director of Earth Observation Programmes, emphasises, the award aims to foster innovation and support early-career scientists, empowering researchers to push the boundaries of science and technology. The research grant offered through the EO Excellence Award might be used to 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐄𝐎 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥, encouraging the transition from scientific discovery to entrepreneurial application. The award seeks to recognise: - 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐫𝐬: researchers demonstrating novel approaches and innovations in EO data processing, applications, engineering, or communication. - 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬: researchers focusing on European EO Datasets, encouraging international collaboration. - 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬: researchers focusing on demand-driven solutions that contribute to science, industry, or society. - 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬: researchers opening new areas and potential in the world of European Earth Observation. This year, an individual winner can receive up to €35,000, and a winning team can secure grants of up to €65,000. Winners will be awarded at the ESA Living Planet Symposium in Vienna in June 2025, where they can present their work to an international audience. The nominations will close on 𝟓 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫.
