🌴 Lost in the e-procurement jungle? Let us guide you ⬇️
Last week ( https://lnkd.in/endjdrQy ) we had a look into the challenge of finding a successor for SAP SRM. SAP’s official recommendations for replacing SRM are the built-in SAP S/4HANA Fiori My Purchase Requisitions App, the SAP S/4HANA Central Procurement as well as SAP Ariba.
✨ Looking outside SAP's own ecosystem, there is more on the market, so much more. Solutions like BeNeering, Coupa, Ivalua, Jaggaer, Zycus, GEP SMART, and Oracle Procurement Cloud – to name only a few. There are plenty of choices offering powerful procurement and supplier management features, all with their own strengths and weaknesses.
🔍 However, transitioning from SRM specifically to a new solution involves more than adopting the latest features; it’s about finding the right fit for your specific SAP environment and needs. Just as outlined last week, let us continue with what we believe a SRM successor should ideally provide, today from a technical side:
✅ Seamless SAP integration – the best integration requires little to no data replication, resulting in minimal effort when setting up and running a solution.
✅ Control over business logic – remains in your own SAP system, so that you (and your IT) can identify and solve problems themselves.
✅ Can be run by your IT – the solution you pick ideally can be understood (or quickly learned) by your own IT staff, ensuring a much lower TCO.
⚡ While the mentioned alternatives offer robust standalone capabilities, most fall short in one or more of these areas, often lacking in SAP-specific integration or requiring extensive custom development. As far as we are aware, there is only one solution on the market which fulfils all criteria: BeNeering.
💡 The approach taken by BeNeering is different to all other solutions out there, as it was developed with SAP systems in mind, ensuring deep compatibility, minimal migration requirements, and a central platform that maintains SRM-like core functionalities.
📌 Stay tuned for the final post on SRM successors when we list our 3 main functional criteria, which we consider important. But before that, let us know in the comments:
