A Decade of Growth and Gratitude - 10 years ago, I stepped into the role of Germany’s Country Leader and Co-Leader DACH of AlixPartners. What a decade it’s been—intense, with ups and downs, immensely rewarding, and quite successful. Our revenue in DACH has quintupled, with 2024 setting new records thanks to 28% organic growth and 50%, when we include the fantastic Berylls by AlixPartners team, acquired mid-year. I am proud to have played a part in building and empowering this remarkable team This month, I hand over my role and want to say a heartfelt THANK YOU. To my wife Janine White and my daughters Gloria and Ella: your unwavering support, unconditional love, and endless patience - especially when I forced them to switch off the music during those calls on long holiday drives—mean the world to me. To the firm’s great leaders— Jay Alix, Simon Freakley, Rob Hornby, David Garfield, Stefano Aversa, Michael Baur and many others - who hired, trusted and supported me: I am deeply grateful for the chance you gave me. To my partners in DACH, many of whom who have become cherished friends and sparring partners: thank you for your camaraderie. The “Rennweg” crew Dr. Axel Schulte, Stefan Ohl, Dr. Jan Kantowsky, Beatrix Morath. And new friends like Dr. Jan Burgard. To our wonderful AlixPartners team: our consultants - the “Champions League of Consulting”, the wonderful Berylls by AlixPartners team and our phenomenal corporate services teams: we could never have reached these heights without you. A special shout-out to my incredible assistant, Ev Katja Auer , whose tireless support has been invaluable. To our clients: I treasure the memories of our special projects together (watch your inboxes - I'll soon be knocking on your doors again). Finally, I want to express my gratitude to Dr. Veit Buetterlin-Goldberg Buetterlin-Goldberg, who will take the reins as the new leader. Veit is one of the most respected specialists in compliance and risk. He is also a people person with strong values - a brilliant speaker, team player, and all-around dream collaborator. He will co-lead the German team alongside Dr. Jan Dannenberg (Berylls). While I am stepping down from this position, this is NOT a farewell. I will remain active supporting the DACH and EMEA growth journey as Vice Chair, continue managing the Berylls integration, Senior Partner recruiting, integration and development, support the Senior Advisor program and focus on further elevating our commercial program. While I am not escaping the proverbial hamster wheel just yet (my wife would not belief it anyway), focus will shift. And, I will continue to do what I most liked in this job: identifying, developing, mentoring, coaching and working with the greatest talent in the industry. It is a big milestone for me - a moment of pride and optimism for the next decade. #whenitreallymatters
