👥 Social responsibility in biodynamics 🌱 🌟 Each month, we are showcasing one benefit of biodynamic farming in celebration of the 100 years of biodynamic farming in 2024. November is dedicated to social responsibility, an a key component of biodynamic farming. 🤝 To strengthen the importance of social responsibility, a separate Social Responsibility Standard has been introduced by the Federation. It is a minimum requirement that a Demeter farm must meet to receive the Demeter recognition. 🌱 The biodynamic and Demeter movement also tries to ensure fair trading practices by relying on binding cooperation with all its retail partners and with every Demeter trader. 🌍 World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week🐄   ⚕️ This week, we are celebrating World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week to raise awareness about antimicrobial resistance (AMR), push for strong commitments, and promote effective practices to combat its spread.   🦠 AMR happens when bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites evolve so that medicines like antibiotics stop working against them. However, research indicates that improved animal welfare and less stressful conditions lead to better health and lower antibiotic usage.   🌱 Biodynamic farming emphasizes on maintaining healthy rearing conditions, biosecurity, and hygiene rather than relying on antibiotics.
