𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞: 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 In many professions, working on public holidays is unavoidable. But what happens if childcare cannot be guaranteed on these days? On Wednesday, there was such a holiday at our Konzell site and Bischof+Klein had the answer to the childcare question. On the Day of Prayer and Repentance, trainer Wolfgang Schollerer and two of our trainees took over the care of eight children. The children had the unique opportunity to experience at firsthand how film is made and were even allowed to visit mom and dad at their workplace! “We are delighted when we can help parents to reconcile work and family life. At the same time, we see days like this as an opportunity to get children excited about our company,” says Plant Director Armin Kienberger.

𝐖𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧! We are thrilled to have won the German Sustainability Award together with WEPA, Goldeimer and WILDPLASTIC. After the German Packaging Award, the German Sustainability Award is the second joint award this year. The special thing about the packaging is that it consists of 50% WILDPLASTIC®. It is the first product packaging in German supermarkets that uses wild plastic to save the environment. 𝐌𝐲𝐭𝐡: 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐂𝐎𝟐 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐲𝐩𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 Plastic packaging does not necessarily cause more Co2 during production. The production of paper or glass packaging generates almost three times as much CO2 emissions as the production of plastic packaging. One of the reasons for this is that paper processing, for example, requires much more water. Plastic is also a very light material, which has a lower weight than paper, for example. This leads to significant savings during transportation. Paper packaging is up to twice as heavy as plastic packaging with the same tear resistance, offers less product protection and requires significantly more energy, water and chemicals during production. This also improves the eco-balance during transportation. What's more, the overall recyclability of plastics is constantly improving. Our development engineers are constantly working on expanding packaging and film solutions made from polyethylene with a recycled content. At Bischof+Klein, for example, our hygienic packaging solutions can be produced with up to 80% of pcr material. #sustainability #sustainablepackaging #myths

𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩! We have celebrated the successful graduation of our former trainees 2024 with an 'official ceremony' at Hof Schlamann. The former trainees have been honored by our COO and their trainers and received a thank you for their commitment. During the celebration, everyone looked back on the years and unforgettable moments together - from the first days of training to passing the final exam. By the way, it's even nicer that some of them will now remain in our team as permanent colleagues. COO Wald Westerlinck gave following advice: “Stay curious and open to challenges.”

𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐲 Technological progress means that machine technology is becoming obsolete much faster than ever before. By making new investments or retrofitting existing systems, we can keep machines up to date. Together with our long-standing partner Windmöller & Hölscher, we not only provide an insight into our production. Above all, we also explain why retrofitting can be the more economical option. 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐝 This is not true. The recyclability of plastic has improved enormously in recent years. Today, a lot of plastic packaging is already recycled and returned to the recycling loop. In 2020, the recyclability of plastic packaging in Germany reached 81 per cent and has therefore continued to rise, compared to just 66 per cent in 2016. (GVM on behalf of the IK Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen) Many product protection solutions are often developed in order to be easily recyclable. This includes, for example, packaging made of 100% PE, that can be recycled. At Bischof+Klein, these solutions include our PowFlex®vs, PowFlex®ffs and ffs films. #recycling #plasticpackaging #sustainability #circulareconomy
