🎄✨ Wrapping Up 2024 in Style – Virtually! ✨🎄 Last week, on December 3rd, we hosted our virtual End-of-Year/Christmas Party on the Meadow platform, and wow - what an incredible evening it was! With 30-50 friends and family members, we came together in our immersive virtual venue to celebrate, reconnect, and test some of the amazing new updates we’ve developed over the past few months. Highlights of the Night: 💡 New Audio Features in Action: This event served as the perfect testbed for our latest audio update, ensuring crystal-clear sound throughout the evening. 🎸 A Virtual Concert: Jörg and Fabio treated us to a live virtual concert streamed directly into the Meadow venue! 🎤 PowerPoint Karaoke on Stage: Using our advanced stage tools, we had an absolute blast with a hilarious round of PowerPoint Karaoke. Even though this was a virtual event, it was truly heartwarming to see so many familiar faces - some of whom we hadn’t connected with in a long time. Events like this remind us of the power of immersive technology to bring people together, no matter where they are in the world. 🥂We’re so proud of what we’ve built with Meadow and couldn’t have imagined a better way to end the year. What a blast the last few weeks have been! First, Web Summit (still recovering), and now I’m back to share something super cool with you all. In Lisbon, I met Joeri - this guy is killing it in the #Web3 space. We connected over his amazing projects like Web3 CMO Stories (podcast fans, check it out!) and his Web3 retreat, but yesterday, we went next level: we met in Meadow. On the last day of my visit to Web Summit 2024 in Lisbon, I quickly took out my phone and scanned a nice area of the fair. Wow, Web Summit 2024 is over, and what a ride it was! Awesome and exhausting at the same time. As a creative soul caught up in fast-paced projects, it's easy to forget how fantastic it feels to show off our work in person. Being there with my team from Bizzlogic was an absolute blast. I learned so much by demoing our finished projects, our work-in-progress magic, and our R&D stuff to so many curious minds. It was great meeting you all! 🚀 Good bye Web Summit Lisbon!! 👏👏👏👏 Here is my short recap: Day two was all about Meadow — showcasing our latest improvements and pushing the boundaries of what our tech can do. The response was absolutely incredible, and I’m so grateful for the feedback and engagement we received. 💡 Takeaway: We proved there’s an industry here that deserves to be taken seriously. Not much else to share for now—there’s still a lot to sit down and reflect on, and I’m excited to continue the many conversations that started today! 💬 Day Three Reflections Day three felt different—more substance, especially from startups and businesses. 🎯 Immersive Tech Shines Today Thanks to Max‘s presence insightful panel and the many talented immersive tech people I met at the exhibition, the industry was far better represented than on my initial impression. shoutout to Yasemin, Santiago and Keegan However, it’s clear that the industry needs more collaboration and a unified voice to knock on the right doors and move forward. 🤖 What’s Happening in AI? One key observation: Entry barriers for starting an idea are now very low, creating a very different kind of founding team. But climbing the wall to the first customer and sustainable growth seem therefore exceedingly difficult now. That said, I came across a few diamonds in the rough—startups I’ll definitely keep an eye on as they grow! I will maybe share more insights after growing some of these relationships. Holy moly, this was my 5th Web Summit, and somehow this year felt different. I’m currently on the plane home, trying to sort out my feelings, gather my thoughts, and maybe snag a few minutes of sleep - something I haven’t had much of these past few days 😂. Soooo, what’s my verdict… …even from the day before WS, something felt different. It started with all the WhatsApp groups where people helped each other out, shared best practices, cool spots, and all the mini communities that formed. From the start, everyone was super open to connecting and, more importantly, synergizing - no matter what they did or how it related to us. People were open to connecting despite the usual business intent, diving into deeper topics than usual across all kinds of subjects, where we’d typically just scratch the surface. Idk, maybe it’s a counter to global circumstances that seem to separate people more than ever, allowing this to happen - or maybe I’m just being delusional...but yeah, it somehow felt and hit different. Despite all that, we had a great time exhibiting on Wednesday, which, luckily for us, was the busiest day all week. Roaming around on the other days, listening to talks, and interacting with people and companies all over WebSummit was just as much fun. I was initially skeptical and even a bit sad when I heard that the flagship events at NightSummit were replaced by smaller, meetup-like events spread throughout the city. But it turned out to be one of the coolest things! It forced us to split up, actively approach people to avoid being the awkward one in the corner, and try to cover as much ground as possible. I’m happy to say that I think we succeeded. Now, having said that, thanks to all the wonderful people I reconnected with from past years, those I was already connected with here on LI and finally met in person, and of course, all the amazing new people I got to know. Thanks for all the shared stories and relatable talks with people in similar situations, ranging from private experiences and stories to tips, best practices, and mental health as a founder. It’s always fascinating to talk to people who truly understand the entrepreneurial struggles yet also grasp what keeps us doing this! Thanks also to the WS team and our experience managers, everything was perfectly organized, as always. You guys are a pleasure to work with! Laura!! Now, after more than 30 hours on my feet and with no voice left, I’m ready to crash into bed as soon as I land.
