TPM GPIO Fail: A recently discovered vulnerability in Host #firmware enables unsealing secrets from the #TPM. Short run down: Most Intel Corporation devices in the wild right now are not correctly locking down the configuration of PCH pins which enables attackers to reassign those pins to other functionalities through the operating system. That enables potential attackers to control the TPM and unseal secrets from it. The overall question is - Why does this happens so often? The simple answer: No proper #testing. Firmware is lacking proper test framework that are enabled as part of the CI/CD pipelines to catch those security holes and secure millions of devices. *Release FirmwareCI v0.4.15* 2024 starts with a blast! We just released FirmwareCI version v0.4.15 with quite some changes coming in: * Partial Success Status We added the partial success status for job requests. Job requests are the organizational unit under which actual jobs are running. Meaning: One Job requests can have n different jobs. If some fail, and some succeed, you get the percentage now back on how many failed, or succeeded. *TUI Configuration Tool Until now, we had to use our internal CLI tooling to work with the FirmwareCI instances. We are taking a leap forward here, adding a Terminal UI Configuration Tool. This tool will enable our customers to modify, add and delete projects, jobs, and DUTs (Device-under-Test) on their own. With rolling out FirmwareCI to more and more people, we are also giving up control, and handing it over to our customers! We are also tackling a couple of bug fixes with this release.
