Competing interets, dealt with in parallel sectors, prevent an #integrated approach to tackling the problem. We from blue! advancing european projects are happy to say "we did it again": This time, we supported the successful application of an Interreg Alpine Space project called "Brokering Spaces", led by Manuela Brückler and Philipp Vesely from the SIR - Salzburger Institut für Raumordnung und Wohnen GmbH. BrokeringSpaces will strive to find a system that achieves multiple objectives: reconcile different land use interests, create a more resilient planning system, fight land take and increase the performance of ecosystem services. The project starts out from the very foundation of spatial planning and will revitalise traditional tools that are far more sustatinable than current "ways to go". Possible ways to move forward: 🍀 𝙍𝙚𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙡𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙨𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜! as an approach to integrated a multitude of sectors. 🍀 𝙍𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙚 𝙚𝙭𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤𝙤𝙡𝙨 that able to integrate differing sectors. A multitude of constructive planning tools or stakeholder integration approaches exists. 🍀 𝙍𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣! ... not only necessarily scientific literature! For example, the touching book of Bettina Balàka "vom Zähmen, Ausbeuten und Bestauen", that analyses the bashing of "nature conservation" as "sentimental", altough is is a fundamental socioeoconomic need. 🍀 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙨 𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙛 𝙤𝙛 𝙖𝙣 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙡𝙡, 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙨𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙤𝙗𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚. Look at the picture: A clear view on strategic priorities in an integrated system. 🍀 𝘿𝙤 𝙞𝙩 𝙩𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧! #EU funding programmes such as #Interreg pave the way to implementing multi-national & multisectoral solutions! Dorothea H. Palenberg will gladly report from the #GetStarted Seminar in #Salzburg that will be hosted as of today. #ClimateResilience #SpatialPlanning #EUFunding

What is going on at the 2024 United Nations Biodiversity Conference in Cali, Colombia? [EN] German below The United Nations Biodiversity Conference is on the home stretch and it is not certain whether the countries of the global community will be able to reach binding agreements on the protection of nature and biodiversity. According to host Colombia, most countries are lagging far behind both in the designation of protected areas and in the financing of the fund agreed two years ago, which is to be filled with 20 billion dollars a year from 2025 in order to finance ongoing restoration measures. To reach the global biodiversity goals, it takes a lot of actors who work creatively and with great commitment for nature conservation and biodiversity projects every day. blue! is proud to be part of it - we have been actively involved for 25 years in cooperation with the #AlpineConvention, #ALPARC , the #CarpathianConvention and many other actors.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲, 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀? 𝟰 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗹! Klaudia Kuraś, who is - together with Harald Egerer - a strong force in coordinating the #CarpathianConvention, toghether with an engaged team, had an idea: What if we try to apply for a REALLY big, transnational project that pushes for #NatureProtection and #Biodiversity in the #Carpathians, a mountain range that is shared by seven countries. Well, here we are! We from blue! advancing european projects are very happy that we can contribute and learn. This is how you go for the "big fish": 🎯 Choose the right programme for #EUfunding to support you. What is missing in the Carpathians, is a large, transnational, strategic project. The funding programme LIFE Programme offers such opportunities. 🎯 Think about resources for sound preparation! Here, the funding programme offers the opportunity to apply for a small, preparatory project. 🎯 Put a good team together that believes in the cause and has compliant competences: Besides the strong team from #UNEP's Carpathian Convention Secretariat and engaged focal points in the countries, the team has been supported not only by Dorothea H. Palenberg from blue, but also by key experts with long-standing experience, especially Zbig Niew. 🎯 Create a committed, but flexible roadmap that provides a strong structure, but is resilient enough to adapt to possible changes. We would like to take the opportunity to thank Klaudia Kuraś and Harald Egerer for her trust in us. #CarpathianCovention #femaleleaders #EUfunding

𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 The year 2024 has been particularly severe in terms of #flooding in Europe, affecting many countries and leaving behind victims, evacuations and extensive damage. We blue! advancing european projects would like to express our sorrow and solidarity with those affected. One of the great challenges that we will have to face together on our continent is increasing our #resilience to floods and exploring possible solutions. 💪 This year our colleagues Dorothea H. Palenberg and Marga Molina were working for Rijkswaterstaat and other European partners in a proposal aimed to increase resilience to extreme weather events. And new projects are planned for the future! 🔎 And we would like to point out other initiatives of interest. Such as the actions promoted as part of the #EUMission Adaptation to #ClimateChange 👉 Don't miss this event! 📅 : 𝘍𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦: 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘚𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢 𝘚𝘢𝘧𝘦𝘳 𝘍𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦: on 26 September from 10:00 to 11:30 CEST. [EN] #Orchard #Meadows in September: Harvest Time and Commitment to Our #Cultural #Landscape September is the perfect time to experience and harvest the full beauty of orchard meadows. 🍐 These historic landscapes are characterized by a low density of trees and a variety of fruit types such as apples, pears, and plums.
