𝗦𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 🔜 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 Yesterday was the day again: We welcomed our managing directors Philipp Waldenfels and Maximilian Offermann and colleagues from the central departments of R&D, purchasing and finance to Hof for our annual general meeting. We reviewed the past year, exchanged ideas about promising development projects and the prospects for the next year. Our conclusion: with exciting new projects, it certainly won't be boring next year – and we look forward to many more new projects from our customers and partners. Since the current year also offered many challenges and there will certainly be no shortage of them next year, we traditionally strengthened ourselves with Hofer Wärscht (sausages) from the Wärschtlamo (sausage man = a special tradition in Hof) – of course, together with the complete staff! Now we are ready for 2025! #tradition #future #teamwork

𝗙𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 - 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗙𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗼𝗼𝗹 🐑 With the first snow here in Upper Franconia, we want to introduce wool today, even though it is a rather “niche fiber” for needle felting.   Wool has wonderful properties: On one hand, it is moisture-regulating and, on the other hand, it also balances temperature, i.e. it can keep you warm in winter and cool in summer. Furthermore, wool is naturally flame retardant and self-extinguishing when the ignition source is removed. It chars instead of melting and dripping, e.g. polyester does.   You can find our needle felts made out of wool or blends with wool, e.g. ✅ in insoles for shoes ✅ in pull-in socks for rubber boots ✅ in blankets for hunting dogs, or seat cushions for the hunters themselves   And when it comes to sustainability projects, wool is often indispensable. P.S.: If you are looking for really cool design with classic wool felt ➡️Reach out to our colleagues at HEY-SIGN. #wool #sustainability #nonwovens

👏Curtain up for: Lukas Grimm👏 Lukas started his dual studies in industrial engineering (DHGE Eisenach) at BWF Protec in 2020, which he successfully completed in September 2023. During his studies he got to know every department of BWF Protec and the BWF Group including a 5-week internship abroad at BWF Envirotec, USA. Since his graduation, he has been working in the position of Junior Sales & Product Manager. 🌎Since 2024 Lukas is the responsible contact for Spain, Portugal, Scandinavia, Baltics as well as Central and South America. 🎤 Lukas, how did you end up doing your dual studies program at BWF Protec? 👨💼 I had never heard of BWF Protec before I saw the job ad. But after I had familiarized myself with the products and their applications, I was amazed at how often BWF products are used in everyday life, often without being noticed. They are almost ubiquitous: in cars, shoes, or when traveling, where our fire blocker is found in airplane and train seats. That sparked my curiosity, so I applied and was actually accepted. 🎤 You have now been fully integrated into the sales team for a year. What do you like best about your job? 👨💼 The diversity of products and customers fascinates me in my work as a Sales and Product Manager at BWF Protec: the products are not only a component for my customers but are also often almost a close companion on my travels, whether for business or pleasure. I am equally enthusiastic about developing new products, contributing my own ideas and working independently. #engineering #development #salesteam

𝗙𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 – 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝟭 Some weeks ago we explained a bit about our nomenclatures which inspired us to start with a little series about the fibers we use. Let’s start with polyester (PES) – BWF nomenclature PE: Polyester is probably the best-known fiber, not only for needle felts and nonwovens, but also for e.g., the clothing sector. The reason for this is surely the excellent cost-performance ratio, which makes this fiber interesting for many applications, e.g. ➡️ brake felts for the steel industry ➡️ car wash felts ➡️ automotive industry ➡️ water filtration (domestic water filters) ➡️ and many, many more. Excerpt from the technical details: ℹ️ temperature resistance: 150 °C (continuous)/180°C (peaks) ℹ️ melting point: 250 - 260°C ℹ️ density: 1.38 g/cm³ ℹ️ moisture absorption: 0.2 – 0.5 % at 65 % rel. humidity and 20°C   What is your application for needle felts or nonwovens made of polyester? #fibers #nonwoven #technicaltextiles
