🚊We had the opportunity to show the technology developed in the #ATO #AutomaticShunting project (https://lnkd.in/dvYyQ_hR) to the direction of both #CAF and Nederlandse Spoorwegen.   The demonstration took place between the depot in deVork and the main station in Groningen (Netherlands) with two runs in remote driving #GoA1 (up and down including remotely controlled coupling and decoupling) and one run in #GoA4 with a list of various tasks ranging from activating the cab, to coupling and uncoupling with another train, to driving with respect to lateral signalling or to detecting obstacles such as buffer stops, trains and mannequin that were put in place for the demo.   The demo went perfectly even in unfavourable conditions for the perception systems, which had to deal with a very rainy nightfall (even with snow) that reduced the visibility. ⛈️🌨️   Thank you very much to all of those involved in this amazing project 🙌🏻

✔️We’ve successfully completed the commissioning of new safety and communication systems on the Monforte de Lemos – Ourense line! 🚄 As part of the modernization of the 810 Bif. Chapela - Monforte de Lemos line, spanning 46 km of single-track Iberian gauge, we’ve delivered a comprehensive upgrade that includes: ✅ Installation of four next-generation #QuasarQ4e #interlockings at key stations. ✅ Modernization of #BlockingSystems at adjacent stations (Ourense and Monforte de Lemos). ✅ Deployment of new LED light signals, upgraded #audiofrequency track circuits, and replacement of #MotorizedDerails. ✅ Updates to the 2200V electrification system.   In collaboration with Intel Corporation, we also deployed ADIF’s new IP/MPLS backbone network over a 96-fiber optical link and transitioned Fixed Train-Radio systems to IP. Additionally, the #TMS at the Ourense Command Post was upgraded with our #NAOS technology to streamline operations.   This project reinforces our role as a trusted partner in transforming Spain's rail infrastructure. 🚀 Teamwork and innovation driving progress! 💪

We are proud to announce that the EU-Project FCH2RAIL has received the Best Innovation Award from the Clean Hydrogen Partnership during European Hydrogen Week with 60% of all the votes. As part of this project, #CAF together with CNH2 - Centro Nacional del Hidrógeno developed an innovative testing system for Fuel Cell Hybrid PowerPacks that operates without the need for a real train. 🚄⚙️ This system enables performance evaluation of individual components or the complete system, and played a key role in optimizing energy management for the project. 🔋✅ The award was proudly accepted by Manex Zabala Mikeleiz, representing our team of innovators, alongside Beatriz Nieto Calderón (CNH2) and Dr.-Ing. Hong Hanus (DLR) as project coordinator. 📢 CAF SECURES TWO NEW CONTRACT EXTENSIONS IN THE NETHERLANDS AND ITALY. #CAF has once again secured its customers' confidence by securing two new agreements to expand the number of units in its current projects. On the one hand, it will supply the Dutch operator GVB with 13 additional trains for the #Amsterdam #metro. Additionally, a year after entering into the initial contract, the Comune di Palermo has chosen to extend the agreement, purchasing 14 more #trams for the new #Palermo city tram network. The combined value of both operations amounts to approximately €130m. At CAF, we've made exciting advancements in the field of #RailwayAutomation! In collaboration with Nederlandse Spoorwegen, we recently completed an ambitious program in the Netherlands, focused on Automatic Train Operation (#ATO) up to #GoA4: ✔️ #ATOEndurance, tested the ATO #GoA2 system across the entire Dutch rail network, regardless of the #ATP system in place (#ETCS, national Class B #ATB system, or both). Our aim was to assess improvements in #EnergyEfficiency, #Punctuality, and #Capacity. ✔️ #ATOAutomaticShunting, delved into remote and automated shunting operations in a real depot environment, including the journey between depot and first/last station, even with mixed traffic. We successfully operated trains remotely in both manual and automatic mode (GoA2), and even fully autonomous (#GoA4). These groundbreaking tests mark a significant step forward in railway automation, with CAF leading the way in #SignallingInnovation. We're excited to continue developing these technologies as part of the European #R2DATO project, under the #EURail program. The #FutureOfRail transport is here, and we’re just getting started! 🚆💡
