🤝 Meet our partners: Technical University of Denmark (DTU) 🎓 I am excited to introduce the DTU - Technical University of Denmark (DTU), one of Europe's largest university departments specialising in environmental and resource technology. Known for their cutting-edge research and education, DTU develops innovative, sustainable technologies, methods, and solutions that are essential for a greener future. 🌍 In CheMatSustain, DTU is leading the development of a framework that integrates Chemical Risk Assessment and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to ensure compliance with safe-and-sustainable-by-design criteria and conduct a comprehensive sustainability assessment. Further, they integrate absolute sustainability assessment into the framework aiming to respect the planetary boundaries. As this year is slowly coming to an end, we are already planning some exiting activities for 2025! Check out the Labor Impuls Forum, where our lead project manager Jelena Barbir will be representing the CheMatSustain project and sharing inspiring insights about the role of Research projects in the development of safe and sustainable research.

🪴Sustainability Day at the HAW Bergedorf! 🖼️ Our students, teachers and staff had the chance to explore a poster exhibition showcasing current sustainability research and student projects from the HAW Hamburg, as well as an art exhibition which addressed themes of plastic waste and climate change on the 6th of November. 💬We partook in the guided walk with our CheMatSustain poster, presenting our framework and research, sparking engaging conversations and discussions. 📃The event offered lectures and workshops covering topics such as sustainable energy for catering, sustainable startups and sustainability in teaching. The results from a faculty survey on sustainability in education were presented and we had the opportunity to listen to the university’s sustainability strategy regarding various sectors of the facility. 🌍 Exciting News: Our Sister Projects Join the Open Innovation and Digitalization of Materials and Manufacturing (OIP) Conference! 🚀 We are thrilled to announce that our sister projects: TOXBOX, SSbD4CheM and CHIASMA Project together with CheMatSustain will be participating in the Open Innovation and Digitalization of Materials and Manufacturing (OIP) Conference! This prestigious event takes place in Kaiserslautern, Germany 21-23 October and brings together leading innovators, researchers, and industry experts from across the globe to explore cutting-edge advancements in materials science and manufacturing processes. At the core of the conference is a commitment to fostering collaboration, driving innovation, and embracing digital transformation to solve some of the most pressing challenges in the industry today. 🎉 Exciting citizen-research collaboration! The EU-funded SHARPER project is bringing researchers and the public together for European Researchers' Night. On September 27th, 2024, the University Carlo Bo of Urbino (UNIURB) joined other Italian universities in a nationwide event, offering citizens hands-on access to labs, lectures, and street events. 🌍🔬 The CheMatSustain project was showcased, highlighting its role in advancing sustainable chemistry and materials science. 🚀 We joined the SIPMeT Congress in Udine, Italy! The rapid transfer of research to clinical practice is revolutionizing healthcare by providing clinicians with innovative tools to solve previously unsolvable problems. Key to this is Translational Pathophysiology, which integrates clinical sciences, -omics, AI, and emerging technologies. In biology, "omics" refers to all the components in a cell. Omics sciences aim to identify, describe, and measure the biomolecules and processes that shape how cells and tissues work. At the SIPMeT Congress in Udine, Italy (19-21 September), experts shared insights on this evolving field. (The Netherlands) I am happy to introduce Eurskem B.V., a small and medium enterprise (SME) aiming to contribute with their specific expertise and commitment to research and development by participating in EU Horizon projects. We are keen to foster collaboration that develops new methods dedicated to the safe and sustainable use of chemicals. 🗂️ In CheMatSustain, Eurskem has taken the lead in preparing a robust but user-friendly database for the project.
