🗣️ Meet Orlando Kleineberg, Andreas Bremen and Ahmed Z. khalifa at the VDZ Congress during the next three days. 📅 Don’t miss out on the Co-reactive presentation on Friday about converting #carbon into pozzolanic materials to use in low carbon #cement and #concrete formulations.
Info
If the cement industry were a country, it would rank as the third-largest emitter of greenhouse gases, accounting for 8% of global emissions, following China and the USA. The cement production process releases substantial CO2 from limestone, highlighting the urgent need for solutions to harness and utilize these vast quantities of CO2. This is where Co-reactive steps in – a spin-off from RWTH Aachen University. We're developing an innovative process for CO2 mineralization, binding CO2 in solid form. This groundbreaking technology converts CO2 into solid carbonate that can be used as a sustainable resource. By incorporating our product into construction industry, we not only dramatically reduce the carbon footprint but also enhance the properties of construction material.

🌍🇪🇺 A Call for Carbon Removals in the next EU mandate 🇪🇺🌍 Co-reactive and 44 other organizations joined the Negative Emissions Platform in urging Climate Commissioner-designate Wopke Hoekstra to make carbon removals a priority for the EU. Our solution? Capturing CO₂ and locking it as stable carbonates for long-term storage. Read the full joint letter here: https://bit.ly/4fhRO8i #ClimateAction #CarbonRemoval #NetZero #EU
🇪🇺 A call for supporting carbon removals in the next EU mandate 🇪🇺 Together with 44 other organisations, the Negative Emissions Platform has written to Climate Commissioner-designate Wopke Hoekstra ahead of his confirmation hearing in the European Parliament urging him to adopt a set of policies to support a sustainable scale-up of carbon dioxide removal (CDR) in the next EU mandate. Here are our 4 key recommendations: 1️⃣ Set separate targets for emissions reductions and carbon removals in the revision of the Climate Law 2️⃣ Boost CDR funding to scale up both early- and later-stage technologies Provide clarity for buyers of CDR in the Green Claims Directive, strengthening the integrity of climate claims 3️⃣ Create stable demand for carbon removals through a compliance market and long-term policy support 4️⃣ Carbon removals are vital for reaching net zero. With the new European Commission being formed, this is an important moment to ensure carbon removals become a pillar in Europe’s fight against climate change.
