A lot happened in November 😅 ... 🫡 Juan Mata García linked up with Right to Dream to join the ownership group for MLS club San Diego FC becoming only the second active player in MLS history to be a part owner of a club while still playing after David Beckham 🌍 We launched the Fields of Change handbook in collaboration with Football For Future and adidas' 'Move For The Planet' project - the first-ever resource designed to integrate environmental sustainability into grassroots sports 🎫 The Football Association of Wales saw a record crowd for a Wales’ women’s game with 16,845 fans in the stands for their EURO 2025 playoff against the Republic of Ireland 🧠 We presented a session from the Create The Space programme for a host of former Portuguese national team players at FC Porto's Estádio do Dragão 🔥 Dani Olmo scored his first Champions League goal for Barcelona in their 3-0 win over Brest ❤️ We welcomed Apurva Chavan Chahan and Ana Mirtskhulava to the team! Oh, and there was just the small event of our rebrand 🤩🥳 What a month it's been for the Common Goal community 👏

Football at its most raw. 49,000 people came together at Valencia’s Mestalla stadium last Saturday ahead of a game against Real Betis to remember the lives lost during the recent floods. This was the strength of a community united by football on full display. For 90 minutes that community was given a sense of escapism, joy and hope through the beautiful game. César Tárrega, a native of the region, scored the opening goal in the 4-2 win and held up a shirt with the message: ‘Tots junts eixirem' - 'Together, we will come through this.' The past month has shown once again that climate change is not just a threat – it’s a daily reality for many people across the world and will inevitably hit underserved communities the hardest. Common Goal community organisation Fundación Fútbol Más España is working to share information to help those in the area and will be offering further support on the ground in the coming weeks. And Common Goal will continue working with organisations around the world to ensure climate resiliency through the game – by mobilising the global football industry and supporting the football for good sector through capacity, funding, and partnerships to drive local socially transformative climate action. Love and strength to everyone in Valencia ❤️

A New Common Goal … We have unveiled a new identity yesterday, but this hasn’t been a brand exercise for its own sake. It wants to be a rallying cry, simple, loud and clear: We have to radically collaborate if we are honest with wanting to change the world, with creating an equal playing field for ALL. This is new territory for all of us. We are not good at collaborating beyond transactional, beyond what’s in it for me, we haven’t been incentivised to practise it. And we urgently need to recognise that! And we have #football, the tool to enable it. Probably the only force we have left that unites us, that inspires us, that speaks to us, collectively. And with Common Goal we want to put ourselves at the service of connecting the dots, finding the right position on the field for everyone, playing with the same game plan towards the same ultimate goal. It’s on all of us to shift that collaboration needle. We all have platforms, have influence, have resources, what if we played together, as a team? As ONE team! Our organisations are tools to allow us to take positions, they are not the purpose in itself. The purpose is 8 billion #people and 1 #planet, and we need everyone! Football can and we will! That’s the new COMMON GOAL!

It was an exciting day at Common Goal yesterday as we unveiled our new brand and strategic direction 🤩 Our CEO Jürgen Griesbeck has offered insight and detail into a future where collaboration is key as players, organisations, community members and partners come together to use football to create an equal playing field for all 👇

🤩 This year we’ve been working to revise our tactics in order to make sure we’re able to drive as much impact as possible through the beautiful game. Alongside that work we took the decision to re-brand – bringing everything in line with our strategy and creating one cohesive identity. We believe the joy of football will change the world and we’re excited to enter a new chapter in our journey – helping organisations around the globe dismantle inequality and build a better future for all. Stay tuned as we shine a light on the community heroes around the world united through football and the change it can create.

🚨 I’M JOINING SAN DIEGO FC OWNERSHIP GROUP! 🚨 Really happy to announce that I’m a partner at the newest and most special franchise in the MLS! San Diego FC Many thanks to the ownership group, Right to Dream and Major League Soccer for allowing me to be the first active player to be a part owner of a club in the league, and the second ever after David Beckham. It’s truly an honour. It’s needless to say that the Right to Dream approach to our beloved sport is unique, bringing purpose at the core of everything they do, and I’m really happy to continue my journey using football a social tool for change together with the Right to Dream community and Common Goal . I see this step as an opportunity to help build something really special in a city and a league that are experiencing incredible growth, and I cannot wait to be involved and commit to the positive social impact that aligns with the club’s and my personal vision of the beautiful game. ⚽️❤️🌍 VAMOS SAN DIEGO!! HERE WE GO!!
