The EU-funded Erasmus+ project "Cowork4EU" aims to establish coworking principles and dynamics at in academic teaching and transfer. The four project partners from TU Dortmund University in Germany (JProf. Dr. Simon Hensellek), Seeburg Castle Private University in Austria (Ass.-Prof. Dr. Sandra Diller), Prague University of Economics and Business from the Czech Republic (Dr. Marko Orel), and Paris School of Business from France (Prof. Ignasi Capdevila). This will be piloted with students from the four partner universities and further developed through accompanying research. The curriculum will serve as a blueprint to support other faculty. In addition, the project team has set itself the goal of establishing an academic coworking network to further promote the exchange and mobility of students and researchers within Europe. The results of the project will be documented and published in the form of a best practice report.

Yesterday, the presence days of our Cowork4EU #coworking course took place in the makerspace of the Worldfactory Start-up Center (WSC) at Ruhr-Universität Bochum in Germany! 🇩🇪 In this last edition of our joint #Erasmus course, 36 students from University of Dortmund, Seeburg Castle University, Prague University of Economics and Business, and Paris School of Business worked together in multicultural teams and developed a final round of their ideal visions of #innovative #coworking concepts for #students and other university members. 🙌 The students came up with a large range of inspiring #office space concepts, such as #coworkingspaces that focused on finding an equilibrium of work and #childcare, a space with various #tools and #machines, as well as spaces that focused on #physicalhealth and #mentalhealth. 🚀 Further, most spaces actively promoted #collaboration with other coworking spaces, for example through global coworking #networks such as the #EACN! 🌍 Students presented their concept in front of a diverse audience of professors and space management and received developmental feedback. Now, after successfully tackling the initial conceptualization, they will move on to write a detailed report on their space concept! 📕📗📘📙 A huge thanks to Worldfactory Start-up Center (WSC) for hosting us and providing the option to work in such a great industrial location in the #Ruhr area! ⚒️ Dr. Simon Hensellek Jonah Weisswange Ignasi Capdevila Assist.-Prof. Dr. Sandra Julia Diller Magdalena Weber Marko Orel Lukas Valek

💡 What do students really want in #university #coworking spaces? 🌿💻 During our #Cowork4EU seminars, we collaborated with 100 students from 🇩🇪 Germany, 🇦🇹 Austria, 🇫🇷 France, and 🇨🇿 Czechia to create 21 business plans for university-based coworking spaces. We analyzed their ideas to discover what makes the perfect space for #students! 📚✨ 🎯 Top student wishes: - Natural light ☀️ and nature-inspired elements 🌱 like wooden furniture and plants to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. - Open flex desk zones for collaboration 🤝, balanced with quiet zones for focused work 🧠🔇. - Dedicated meeting rooms for group work and brainstorming sessions 🗣️💡. 🚀 But it’s not just about #office space! Many students wanted access to #prototyping tools like 3D printers, wood-cutting tools, and technical equipment 🛠️ to bring their ideas to life. Plus, artistic resources like sewing machines, pottery tools, and media equipment 🎨🧵📸. 📈 Workshops & Mentoring: Students also emphasized the need for professional workshops and #mentorship on #entrepreneurship to make the most of their time in the coworking space. 🧑💼💡 They’re even keen on #incubation programs to launch their #startup ideas 🚀, as well as networking events with industry leaders, researchers, and educators 🧑🔬🤝. Curious about more insights from our student reports? 🤔 Stay tuned for further findings here on #LinkedIn and keep an eye out for our upcoming Cowork4EU Best Practice #Report! 📊📚
