The landscape for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (#DEIB) is currently being challenged. This is concerning as it can lead to increased discrimination and lack of diversity in the workplace. People are not one in the same and it is the diversity of each of our strengths and backgrounds that shape the world we are in. I have found always the best results stem from the collection of differing people working together to bring their best to the workplace. To accelerate innovation and new ideas, we must enable individuals to feel included and valued to bring their very best to the workplace. As a mother of a neuro-diverse child, I am constantly discovering how my son learns and processes information which is different than me. His innate ability to see detail that I would often overlook is a strength. When I equate this to the workplace, we need diverse perspectives to be at our best. As a CEO, I want to ensure we enable all employees to bring forth their very best self to the workforce. It is important that leaders take accountability of DEIB as this is where we can drive change and foster growth through our employees. My son, my own experience as a female CEO, and my daily engagement with our diverse talent at Crayon motivate me to ensure we have a culture at Crayon where all our more than 4,000 people across 46 countries feel empowered, respected and included. Standing up for basic human rights is something we take very seriously at Crayon. It’s a moral commitment that aligns with our core values - integrity, pace, quality, and agility. I want to make it clear that we stand firmly behind DEIB and that our commitment remains strong. These are some of the initiatives we take to create a culture of belonging: Last year, we took a significant step by hiring a dedicated DEIB lead, Laura Meyer-Höper, to increase our efforts to fostering an inclusive culture, in close collaboration with our dedicated teams across 46 countries, We have a Female Leadership Program, established many years ago, which underscores how we support and advance women in leadership roles. We conduct a global awareness training for all employees, providing our colleagues with the knowledge and tools, enabling them to actively contribute to a more inclusive workplace in their day-to-day business. As we continue to expand our engagement and investment in DEIB, we foster the well-being and morale of our people. I see it first-hand, every day, that a diverse and inclusive team is more engaged, motivated, and committed.
