In this application video, two high-speed SpeedSense cameras (operating at 2,000 Hz) are used to measure the impact response of a mobile phone being dropped from a height of 50 cm. The real-time, speckle pattern quality evaluator and projection calibration are both performed online, in Istra4D, within the live acquisition mode. Point tracking is performed of discrete facets/subsets indicating the four impacts (indifiable as acceleration spikes) of the drop test. In this application video, a 4-camera double-sided (biplanar) setup is used for a tension test of an aluminum rebar. Using a 2×2 camera setup, stereo camera pair observes both the front & rear side of a DIC setup. Calibration is performed using a double-sided target that allows the thickness of the sample to be measured in Istra4D V4.11. In this application video, a 3D-metallic specimen is tested in compression. Using the rung-step approach in the correlation evaluation, whereby a measurement step is evaluated with respect to an intermediate sub-step, large deformations of the 3D-metallic specimen can be measured. In this application video, a 9-cam MulticamDIC system with point (marker) tracking is used to analyze the movement of a toy crab scuttling. Through the 9-camera setup, the detected points were tracked across all cameras using the Multicamera Subset Reference Tracking (MSURET) concept, whereby any detected point across any camera can be tracked. The advantage of MSURET is that the point does not need to (still) be visible in the reference camera images, in order to be traced. Point (Marker) Tracking is a measurement technique that detects, correlates, and “tracks” discrete visual references, known as “fiducials”, on a surface such as: coded targets, generic markers, or alternatively elements within a continuous pattern. In this application video, markers are palced at various locations of interest on a robotic arm and each marker is then tracked for position & displacement feedback from a motion/movement sequence. An analysis of a tire wobbling under rotation is shown in this application video using a 2-cam FlexDIC system. After correlation of the measurement series, an application module is initiated that analyses the rotation axis of the tire and then performs a coordinate system optimization alignment through minimization of the out-of-plane, Z-displacement. The aligned coordinate system then allows the actual effects of wobbling to be investigated. This application module is available free-of-charge together with Istra4D V4.11!
