Who says remote teams can’t feel close? As a fully remote company, our team spans countries and time zones, but last night, the distance disappeared. We gathered in Berlin for a special team dinner, welcoming colleagues who traveled all the way from Tunisia and Sweden to join us. From sharing ideas to sharing food, moments like these remind us why our team is so special: different locations, different strengths and experiences, one amazing team. Hiring decisions are the 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 when growing your company. While potential and attitude are valuable, early-stage growth often demands a focus on 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗲—team members who can make an 𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 and 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀 from day one. For example, when we brought on Bhavik Nasit as our Founder’s Associate, his 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 and 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 was exactly what we needed at the time. They were able to dive in right away, driving impactful results in producing content for our social media and strengthening our presence. At the same time, they were excited to 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 in areas like project management, sales, and broader business strategy. This 𝗺𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 is what we aim for in every hire: finding talented individuals who can help solve 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆’𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀, while also building the skills and experience 'to boldly go where no man has gone before'. 🖖 What is your main focus in hiring decisions?

In the early days of DeepMetis, we were often hired to build a specific solution the way the client wanted it. The results were mixed. Why weren't they happy when they got exactly what they wanted? Because it wasn't what they 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘦𝘥. Instead of asking, 'What solution do you want?' we dive deeper. We ask, 'What's really annoying you about your work, at least once a week?' Simple, but it cracks open a goldmine of insights. Ask your clients about their problems. It's your job to find the solutions.

Yesterday I spent an afternoon with Ferdinand Biere from DeepMetis® who was so kind to tour me through many of their current topics, such as Content Writing and Publishing, Artificial Intelligence and much more. It was a pleasure to first hand see his enthusiasm and dedication to his work, and he sure is determined to make a dent in the AI space. One thing that I keep pushing in front of me is social media appearances. He does inspired me to share more publicly what is going on around me. Now, what should I write about? I honestly have so much going on, that an one hour lunch is never enough to unpack it all. But here I am, sharing the gist in one LinkedIn post: The one common theme I can identify is to be drawn to intellectual challenges, such as founding, programming, business development and the quest for value in the sea of possibilities. There we both find contentment in the expansion of our practical knowledge, testing ourselves in unknown territories. There we find this exhilarating feeling we both seek. And we found one of the best Korean restaurants of Berlin not in Mitte, Prenzlauer Berg, Kreuzberg, Neukölln but in Friedenau! 🍜 Now, you tell me, is that a story worth telling?
