Our Ambassadors play a vital role in spreading information across all corners of the DERTOUR Group, acting as the crucial link between units, brands and headquarters. They enable smooth information flow, strengthening international dialogue 🌍 and ensuring every achievement is recognized and celebrated 🎉. Since the formation of the Group Ambassadors in 2021, they have achieved a great deal: they’ve developed their own branding, launched a group-wide newsletter, and organized very informative Group Lunch Breaks featuring interesting and insightful guests.   This week, we had a productive workshop with the Ambassadors at our Frankfurt 🇩🇪 office, where we shared ideas and reinforced our joint vision. Thanks to everyone who made the trip from various European locations, we were thrilled to see you all in person!   To wrap up the day, we visited the Christmas market, where we laughed, sampled festive treats and soaked in the cheerful holiday atmosphere. 🎄✨

The special occasion was marked with a wonderful reception at the office — it was a day filled with joy, mingling, and laughter as everyone came together to honour Apollo Denmark's three decades of success and outstanding service in the travel industry. The excitement didn't end there. The #10Faces series, which started in March this year in celebration of the DERTOUR Foundation's 10-year anniversary, has been an inspiring journey filled with incredible stories and remarkable partners. 🫶 We are proud to have offered a platform to honour and recognise the dedicated organisations we work with. As our series draws to a close, we are filled with a sense of nostalgia and pride. With two more stories left to share, today, we are thrilled to introduce our next partner. Meet the Wildlife and Ocean Resource Conservation (WORC), an organisation that has been at the forefront of ecosystem conservation in Sri Lanka 🇱🇰. Their innovative approach has resulted in the planting of 15,000 mangrove trees, offsetting 6,000 tonnes of CO₂, and creating sustainable livelihoods through ecotourism. 🌱 Environmentalist and WORC Chairman Mahanama Gamage Greshan Dhanushka shared: “We started with 10 catamaran boats for tourists and now have 30. The eco-friendly transportation mode supports both the lagoon bio-environment (as it doesn't have a mechanical engine) and mangrove conservation in Koggala Lagoon. The fish have returned, and the community is flourishing.” 🛶 Tourists are also starting to be very interested in protecting the mangroves, which is why they are now offered the chance to plant mangroves and play an active role in the island’s conservation efforts. The ripple effect has extended to other islands, with communities recognising the value of involving tourists in conservation efforts. The collaboration has not only enhanced the mangrove ecosystem but also brought 12 million rupees back into the community, funding education and infrastructure. The project fosters a sense of pride and unity among community members, proving that environmental preservation and economic growth can go hand in hand. 💪🤝 Looking forward, WORC aims to expand its successful model, further increasing biodiversity and empowering more communities. My role offers me ongoing opportunities to learn and grow and collaborate alongside international colleagues which gives me new perspectives and understanding on almost a weekly basis! 🎙️ Favourite office tradition? 💬 I'm lucky enough to work in different offices all the time - I love being invited to join in their different team activities from sponsored walks to monthly townhall updates, it's great to socialise with the businesses I support and learn more about their culture and how to best support their sustainability strategies. 🎙️ How do you spend your free time? 💬  I love to run - I take part in marathon and half-marathon events and always pack my running shoes when I travel. I also love to hike and get out into nature and spend time with my family. I'm currently learning to mountain bike, so I can keep up with the rest of my family. 🎙️ Favourite holiday spot. 💬 I love travelling – my favourite place changes all the time, but one of my favourite holiday memories is trekking in Nepal… the awesome scenery, the peace, the adventure.
