Rediscovered: Our Product Development Journey – Reflecting on 5 Years of Innovation 🚀 Often, people have no idea how hard, time-consuming and lengthy research and development can be. At the latest when budgeting, one might ask why R&D actually needs so much money? Plenty of input, countless ideas, and strict regulatory requirements have challenged us time and again over the past few years. The result: Over three complete concept changes and an incredible 93 iterations to arrive at our current product. Looking back, it’s easy to forget how much work and thoughts went into our development. But today, we’re proud to reflect on this journey – and even more thrilled that we’ve kept some of our earliest prototypes in our desks. These prototypes are a special reminder of how we started 5 years ago and how much change, optimization, and hard work has gone into our project since then. In our new Rediscovered, we’re showing you the very first prototype of our cartridge system, which was originally a mock-up to visualize our idea. It even features our first logo – a true piece of history and a meaningful part of our story! We’re excited to share this reflection with you and look forward to all the milestones that lie ahead. 💡 #Innovation #ProductDevelopment #Detechgene #Teamwork #Rediscovered #Prototype #Throwback

#StartSomething #Prototyping #Progress #Start #Detechgene

Sharing is Caring Detechgene has received support, not directly in our company, but on our floor at BioCampus Cologne. We have the great pleasure to welcome our colleagues from VitrofluidiX to our office and labs. David Günter und Robin Bayer have known each other since 2020 and have been working together on various projects ever since. Over time, we've grown very fond of the #Vitrofluidix team and have always enjoyed watching and cheering on the growth of our companies together. It's even better to have them right next door! Lab space is always a rare resource anyway, and equipping a lab is another story. We are delighted to be able to support Vitrofluidix with our facilities and look forward to the time ahead together. Vitro-Ladies and Gentleman, you are a real asset to our floor, both personally and professionally. #BCC #Startup #GrowAsATeam #Synergiy #Vitrofluidix #Detechgene

From study to start-up 🧑🎓 🌍 Innovations are forged in our universities, but from here they also have to find their way onto the market. This is usually not so easy and this is exactly where the Gateway Exzellenz Start-up Center der Universität zu Köln of Universität zu Köln provides support. Last week, we had the great pleasure of filming a short TV report together with the Gateway on two days, once in the InnoDom Cologne and once at the BioCampus Cologne. The result was broadcast last Friday on the #Lokalzeit program on WDR and can of course be viewed in the media library. It is always a great desire of ours to promote the possibility of spin-offs from the universities and especially the natural sciences and life science subjects. We always hope that we can inspire more students to start their own business with our work and contributions like this. Many thanks to Andreas Klein and Marc Kley for the smooth planning and organization and above all, have fun watching! Future medicine from NRW 🔬 Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Mona Neubaur, Minister of Economic Affairs, to #Detechgene at BioCampus Cologne. To take a closer look at the medical technology innovation in North Rhine-Westphalia, the Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Industrie, Klimaschutz und Energie des Landes NRW, a small delegation consisting of the minister, Anuschka Johnson and Alexandra Muhm-Schneider, personally visited and got to know three selected companies. So together with the companies ReLioS.vision GmbH and Priavoid GmbH, we were able to give the visitors a direct insight into our work and vision, and what we are currently achieving with our ideas for medicine but also for the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. We had a very pleasant exchange with the representatives and, as can be seen in the pictures, a lot of fun in a short laboratory introduction that was intended to illustrate why laboratory diagnostics should be made accessible to everyone to obtain clarity in clinical diagnostics as quickly as possible. We enjoyed the visit and are very proud that we were included in the selection of companies to represent medical innovation in North Rhine-Westphalia. We very much hope for a repeat visit by the ministry in the coming years and for further such successful cooperation. Thank you very much for the visit and your time! 💙 The visit was also announced in a press release from the ministry. Last week was all about startup get-togethers!🫱🏻🫲🏼 From healthy snack cakes (Bettercakez) and sustainable oat drinks (The Oater)to 3D-printed medication (goatAM) and organs-on-a-chip (VitrofluidiX) Cologne has a lot to offer and is home to some truly innovative strength in the start-up sector. This was celebrated with flying colours at the Matching Days of KölnBusiness – the Economic Development Agency of Cologne #Masterclass last week. The strength of the region and the enormous growth of the Cologne ecosystem was once again underlined by Manfred Janssen in a short introduction with impressive figures on the subject of start-ups and investments. Together with Wilhelm Hammes from Planted and Pablo Klueppelberg from W1NNAS we were led by the wonderful Mareike Pöllmann in a small panel discussion on the topic of 'fundraising -does and don't. As a follow-up, the 10 masterclass start-ups presented their ideas in a pitch firework. It was a real pleasure for us to be part of the event, but also to meet all the lovely people from our network and the Cologne ecosystem again, and of course to see the partners and their representatives of the event such as Andree van Hall from BioCampus Cologne and Kai André Mischak from Sparkasse KölnBonn on stage. In addition, the Young Entrepreneurs Düsseldorf e.V. (YED) had invited us to the Stadtsparkasse Düsseldorf to provide information to young people interested in setting up a company, students and the curious about the topic of setting up a company, with all its successes and difficulties. Here we were on stage together with Dr. John Frederic from MedMagnet and answered questions from the moderators and visitors. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Oscar Escalante from the KölnBusiness – the Economic Development Agency of Cologne team and Emil Föster and Celina Kuntz from Young Entrepreneurs Düsseldorf e.V. (YED) for the invitation! We had a great time and look forward to the next joint events! #detechgene #cometogether #Düsseldorf #Cologne #startup #startsomething

🚀 Launch of the Gateway Factory GmbH Yesterday was an important day for the innovation landscape in Germany - Gateway Factory was officially launched! 🎉 Together with the start-up-friendly universities in #Aachen, #Düsseldorf and #Cologne and the Start2 Group, the goal is clear: to transform start-ups into international scale-ups. Yesterday evening, this ambitious project was properly celebrated at the big kick-off event in Aachen - with over 350 guests from universities, Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Industrie, Klimaschutz und Energie des Landes NRW and Startups from the region. We had the honor of being invited as a long-standing partner of the Gateway Exzellenz Start-up Center der Universität zu Köln and exhibiting together with Vytal Global, FibreCoat GmbH and many others as representatives of successful university spin-offs. It was impressive to see how carefully the #GatewayFactory was planned to take into account the perspectives and wishes of all parties from the very beginning. This event highlighted the importance of collaboration at all levels for the success of innovation and scaling. Our special thanks and congratulations go to the two managing directors Tanja Zirnstein and Tim Hiddemann for this great milestone. 👏 #GatewayFactory #Innovation #Startups #Scaleups #University spin-offs #Aachen #Cologne #Start2Group
