Today, our Operating Partner Zahl Limbuwala, alongside the GreenScale Data Centres team, had the privilege of welcoming Northern Ireland’s Economy Minister Conor Murphy to the data centre campus at Foyle Port. It was a highly productive discussion, focusing on attracting investment into the digital economy and advancing renewable energy initiatives. This visit follows GreenScale’s acquisition of Atlantic Hub, which includes key sites in Derry and Donegal. This strategic move establishes the North as a leading hub for technology and innovation. Data centres are crucial in supporting IT infrastructure, powering applications and services, but they also require substantial energy. We were pleased to share with the Minister how GreenScale is addressing these challenges through its strong commitment to sustainability. By developing a comprehensive ecosystem of alternative energy solutions, GreenScale is making significant progress towards achieving net zero and contributing to a more sustainable digital future. Department for the Economy NI Minister Conor Murphy has heard more about GreenScale Data Centres, a recently launched new data centre platform, during a meeting at its Atlantic Hub, at Foyle Port in Derry. GreenScale recently acquired Atlantic Hub which has sites in Derry and Donegal, with funding provided directly by DTCP, a leading European digital infrastructure investor who is behind the formation of GreenScale data centres. This is positioning the north as a prime location and leader on such technology and innovation. Data centres are physical locations that house IT infrastructure for building, running and delivering applications and services and require a significant level of energy. The Minister heard more about Greenscale’s commitment to sustainability and to developing an ecosystem of alternative energy supplies as we collectively strive for net zero.
