Since there have been many events recently, we would like to tell you today about two more wonderful occasions that took place on Monday and Tuesday in two cities—Heidelberg and Bamberg. These were part of the major project to donate Ukrainian books to German universities, launched a year ago by Freundschaft kennt keine Grenzen and the Association of Ukrainian Organizations in Germany e.V. On Monday, in cooperation with the German-Ukrainian Society Rhein-Neckar e.V. and Alumni Ukraine, we donated Ukrainian books for the second time to the Slavic Studies Institute at Heidelberg University. This time, the Faculty of History (represented by Nils Jochum) and the Heidelberg Student Council – Stura (represented by Harald Nikolaus) also received books from us. Our thanks go to Professor Dr. Urs Heftrich for supporting our project and for translating Mykola Zerov's works into German. After a brief speech about the “Executed Renaissance” era, guests were able to watch the film The House “The Word” and view a small exhibit of rescued books that were burned during the Russian attack on the Faktor Druk printing house in Kharkiv, where seven employees lost their lives. Special thanks to the team of writer Anastasia Dmytruk, who brought us the exhibition. On Tuesday, the project founders in cooperation with the local partner organization Bamberg:UA e.V. (Bamberg:UA e.V. ) made the first donation of Ukrainian books to the University of Bamberg (Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg ), a long-awaited event. We are grateful to all co-organizers for the invitation and warm reception, including Vice President Prof. Dr. Stefan Hörmann, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Cultural Studies Prof. Dr. Kai Nonnenmacher, and the University Library Director Dr. Fabian Franke. Special thanks to Professor Christian Zehnder from the Institute of Slavic Studies and translator Jakob Wunderwald for organizing and participating in the panel discussion. We are also glad we could introduce several books in detail, especially works by authors from the “Executed Renaissance” era. We extend our thanks to both universities for the excellent collaboration. We hope that our project will help German scholars and students gain a deeper understanding of Ukrainian literature. The next donation will be at Frankfurt (Oder) University. Stay tuned for more details 🥰 P.S. Many thanks to all activists who helped us acquire the books, as well as the Ukrainian Institute of National Memoryand Prof. Dr. Alla Paslawska for the donated books. A very warm meeting in the village of Dmytrivka, near Kyiv, with a group of German volunteers from the organization „Sankt Augustin and Friends hilft“ from the town of Sankt Augustin near Bonn. This is the 37th time (!) that these incredible people have brought humanitarian aid to Ukraine since the full-scale invasion of Russia. This time they came with buses, ambulances and other vehicles filled with everything necessary for the winter and took it to different cities, including Kharkiv. One of the founders of the organization is a member of the regional parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia Sascha Lienesch, who not only accompanied the convoy but was one of the drivers all the way. By the way, this humanitarian mission marked the beginning of friendly contacts between Dmytrivka and Sankt Augustin (how wonderful it sounds!), which have all the prospects to develop into an effective official partnership between the both towns. I just want more people to know about such good deeds, which often go unnoticed for wider audiences. And if someone from the media is ready to cover it, the next trip is planned for December with a charity event for children from Dmytrivka. As the volunteers themselves say, the deep gratitude from Ukrainians is what motivates them to keep going. Danke für #StandWithUkraine Sascha Lienesch MdL und das ganze Team @st_augustin_and_friends_hilft 💙💛

Friends, we sincerely thank everyone who donates money to help Ukraine. In addition to the bus, we also purchased life-saving hemostatic tourniquets. Most often, we bought American tourniquets, because, although there is one brand of very good certified Tourniquets in Ukraine, there was often a shortage of them, so we, as an international volunteer team, wanted to provide more of what is needed. But now there are enough Ukrainian tourniquets of this very good brand (SICH), so we bought them this time. Each of these tourniquets will stop the bleeding of the wounded, which means lives saved. Many thanks to everyone who donates. You are part of a life-saving team. Lviv.. A father buries his entire family, a wife and 3 daughters. Here I should say that it was a very nice friendly family. The eldest and middle daughters were very active and motivated. They all wanted to live and dreamed of building a free, democratic Ukraine. I could write a lot, but I simply ask you to imagine what this man feels now near the four crosses and coffins in which his dearest people lie. Russia is conducting a genocide against Ukrainians! And I don't want to hear speculations about what Ukraine should do so that russia stops killing, it annoys me when foreign friends try to explain that somewhere among russians there are those few percent who are against the war, and I don't care which russian author published a book about war and thereby made a career for himself. We Ukrainians do not need words! We are being killed because we are Ukrainians! We need enough weapons and the ability to destroy Russian military facilities on the territory of ALL of russia, so that there are fewer such tragic days and we/our dearest survive. We also need donations to buy life saving items! And that's it! A big thank you to everyone who understands and supports our donation collections. (c) pictures from the internet

🇺🇦 Ukraine, my country! Peaceful, freedom-loving and extremely talented! Today you celebrate your Independence, but you are still forced to assert it with the lives of your best daughters and sons. The m*scovite neighbor, suffocating with envy because of your progressiveness and adherence to democratic values, tortures and rapes Ukrainians, kidnaps Ukrainian children, abuses prisoners, and destroys schools and hospitals. Therefore, we have no right to relax! By the word "we", I do not mean only Ukrainians, but also all representatives of the entire democratic world. Ukraine is the largest country in Europe. A free Europe cannot exist without a free Ukraine! Therefore, I ask everyone to support our rallies (thank you, there were many of us today), demand weapons so that Ukraine can defend itself and Europe, and also donate funds to buy aid for Ukraine. I sincerely thank everyone who constantly supports Ukraine with us. I am happy to announce that yesterday our team bought the next bus, which will soon go to Ukraine. I leave a link to our charity fundraisers. Donate what you can spare! Join us in saving lives! When you don't hear anything from us for a long time, it means that our free time is actively devoted to volunteering🙂. You can praise these charming men who loaded very heavy hospital beds, bedside tables, mattresses and other things for a Ukrainian military hospital and support the purchase of the next bus with a donation, that will save lives. And spread this post 😇 Only together we can help Ukraine save lives! Every bus is extremely important.♥️ Our bank details are: Freundschaft kennt keine Grenzen IBAN: DE14 7705 0000 0303 4472 47 BIC/Swift: BYLADEM1SKB Reference: Help for Ukraine https://lnkd.in/edtQ5HdF

“Hallo, ich bin in Kyjiw.” That’s how my favorite WhatsApp messages start now 🙂. The first one I received after my return to Ukraine was from Stefan, an entrepreneur and civil society activist from the small town of Meckenheim near Bonn. These days, Stefan is in Ukraine on his 30th+ humanitarian convoy mission in the last two and a half years (no exact number because he says he’s lost count). Stefan was the first German to cross the threshold of our consulate in Düsseldorf some hours after the full-scale invasion, having had no contact with Ukraine until February 24, 2022. Along with his will to help, Stefan has a personal story of pain and solidarity. His charitable organization was established in 2021 when western Germany was hit by a natural disaster—a major flood in the Ahrtal region. Back then, a team of volunteers led by Stefan opened a warehouse to collect humanitarian aid, and since February 2022, they have been focusing on helping the Ukrainian resistance. I wish that more people knew about the good deeds of a true friend of Ukraine and would thank him and his team for their great support. And to my foreign friends, please support Meckenheim hilft e.V. The aid from this organization goes where it is needed most and in record time. Meckenheim hilft e.V.
