E-T-A is world market leader champion! For the eighth time now, the current world market leader index of the St. Gallen university and of the Akademie Deutscher Weltmarktführer (academy of German world market leaders - ADWM) lists E-T-A Elektrotechnische Apparate GmbH as the world market leader champion in the “circuit breakers for equipment protection and circuit protectors” segment. “It is not a matter of course to be at the top. Therefore, we are very proud that we were able to keep our position as World Market Leader again. The entire E-T-A team is delighted to receive this award from the St. Gallen University again this year”, states CEO Dr. Jennifer A. Sell. Under the scientific direction of Professor Christoph Mueller, the Henri B. Meier Business School of the Universität St.Gallen (HSG) developed the World Market Leader Index in co-operation with the ADWM. Supported by their media partner WirtschaftsWoche, the selection committee guarantees a neutral and transparent selection process with selection criteria and assessment scores freely accessible. It includes criteria such as market share in the relevant world market, global activities, export share, headquarters and annual turnover. According to principal investigator, Professor Dr. Christoph Müller from the HBM Business School of the St. Gallen university, world market leaders are globally active and successful companies, mostly with a leading technology and family ownership.

E-T-A uses the term HYMAG to describe circuit breakers with a hydraulic-magnetic tripping principle. Like all E-T-A circuit-breakers, the hydraulic-magnetic circuit-breakers are used to reliably protect electrical loads against the consequences of overcurrent and short-circuits. E-T-A’s HYMAGs are available with many different currents, characteristics and configurations and can be perfectly aligned to the respective application. Happy birthday 3120! 🎉 Our circuit breaker / switch combination 3120 is celebrating its 40th birthday this year. To reduce the number of components, we integrated the overcurrent protection into the mains switch. Due to its high reliability and cost-saving dual function, the circuit breaker has become indispensable for many manufacturers of devices and machines, for example in heart-lung-machines or dialysis-machines. Erich Rotter was part of the development team at the time and still works at E-T-A today - as the product specialist responsible for the 3120. Over the years, we have continued to develop the circuit breaker. 👉 Fun fact: If we lined up all the 3120s ever produced, the line would be around 1,500 kilometres long - that's the distance from Altdorf to Barcelona!
