On November 22, 2024, we hosted the Annual EELA-ERA (Academy of European Law ERA) Labour Law seminar in Brussels.   This year marks the first time the seminar was paired with a workshop with the EU Commission that took place the day prior. During the workshop, participants engaged in discussions about the implementation of EU employment law, with a particular focus on the challenges and best practices related to its enforcement across member states. On Friday, the participants had the opportunity to discuss the current topics of European labour law as well as get an update on the most recent CJEU cases. The latest trends, recent case law and main challenges ahead were presented and debated by high-level speakers.   The key topics of the seminar were: - The platform work Directive - Recent CJEU case law on labour law matters - Data protection issues in Whistleblowing - Religious freedom at the workplace   We are pleased with the rising interest and increasing attendance of the event.   Our gratitude goes to all the participants, speakers, and everyone involved in the organization of the seminar.   We are excited to welcome you again next year!

Today marks the last day of this year’s #Conference, however, we still have several more insightful sessions to look forward to!   You shouldn't miss the update on the recent cases and decisions of the Court of Justice by Professor Catherine Barnard. The Plenary session starts at 9 am. See you there!   The Conference will be concluded with the General Assembly. Financial matters as well as future plans of #EELA will be discussed. We will also hold elections as there are two open Board Member seats – Belgium and Northern Ireland. The General Assembly is open to all EELA members attending the conference.   Let’s enjoy the last day together here in Reykjavík! Share your memories using #EELA2024
