Keeping our systems running strong 💪 🔧 The Operating Technology department at EEW PPE in Erndtebrück carried out the most extensive maintenance work in recent years. Our entire carbon steel line was taken out of operation for this and the result is worth it: the systems are now fit for purpose for the coming years, they are safer and even more efficient. Here are the key measures that have been completed: ✅ Extensive repairs on our bending press: From replacing massive components to a complete oil change and optimizing safety features, this was one of the largest maintenance tasks we've ever undertaken. ✅ Smarter welding systems: A brand-new welding head and upgraded control systems are helping us work faster, more efficiently and with easier maintenance in the future. ✅ Upgraded calibration systems: With new electronics, upgraded control technology and repaired components, this system is ready to perform for years to come. ✅ New conveyor ready to go: The outdated one was removed, and the new system is now prepared for operationalization. ✅ Preventive maintenance for reliability: To avoid unplanned downtime and to keep our press performance high, we serviced the plate edge milling machine and installed a new evaporative cooler while repairing the compressed air system. ✅ Brighter and better lighting: A special LED system now provides reliable lighting in challenging conditions, improving both safety and visibility. Maintaining our production machines is an investment in creating a safe environment for our team and remaining a completely reliable partner for all our clients. #maintenance #production #steelpipes

EEW’s Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF) booklet is here 🏭 🌍 At the EEW Group, we believe that transparency is key to achieving a more sustainable future. That’s why we are happy to announce the issue of our CCF booklet, a report that measures the emissions of the production sites and explains our climate strategy and sustainability projects. What’s inside? 🌱 A clear picture of our emissions, including direct emissions from business operations and indirect emissions from the use of purchased energy (Scopes 1 and 2) and indirect emissions from the entire value chain (Scope 3), as well as an individual analysis of our global locations. 🌱 Examples of the various sustainable measures that we have already implemented in production to reduce our emissions such as hydrogen cutting, solar panels, etc. 🌱 An outlook of future opportunities to reduce emissions such as the use of Green Steel. We recently announced our Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for every one of our products. This data and other key figures have been incorporated in the CCF booklet. The journey to sustainability is certainly a long one, but understanding where our emissions come from is also an important step forward in reducing them. 👉 You can read the full booklet for 2023 here: https://lnkd.in/gc_HHKEY

The foundations of an Offshore Wind project: What conditions are taken into consideration to ensure safety and efficiency? 🌦️ Behind every successful Offshore Wind project lies an in-depth understanding of the conditions that a wind farm will be exposed to for decades. These aren’t just a formality, these are critical parameters ensuring that a wind farm meets the requirements to withstand the test of time. 📋 ⏭️ Swipe to learn how water depth, seabed characteristics, the sea-life that is present, and weather conditions directly influence the selection and design of components such as turbines and foundations. By measuring and analyzing these conditions, engineers develop solutions tailored to each project's unique circumstances. These natural conditions form the basis for every Offshore Wind project. But this is only the first part of the equation. Stay tuned as we explore the equally important technical conditions that are critical to the success of Offshore Wind farms and the transition to renewable energy. 🙌 🍃 #OffshoreWind #WindEnergy

A magical Christmas moment at EEW PPE 🎄 Once again, we embraced the magic of the holiday season at EEW PPE with our annual Christmas Market, transforming one of our production halls into a warm and cozy festive wonderland. It was a heartwarming celebration where colleagues and their families came together to enjoy the Christmas traditions. From delicious food stands offering traditional and festive dishes like flamed salmon, potato pancakes or cotton candy to classic holiday drinks such as hot chocolate and Glühwein, the atmosphere was simply enchanting! ☕ Our youngest visitors had a great time crafting beautiful Christmas ornaments with their own hands. Adding to the excitement, St. Nicholas himself dropped by to spread cheer and hand out presents! 🎅 🎁 "This is not just about a festive event but about bringing people together to share in the joy and traditions of the season. Seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces, the laughter in the air, and the pride in our team’s efforts makes it all worth it and reflects who we are: a company rooted in tradition, community, and the spirit of togetherness", says Josefine Busch, Marketing Manager at EEW Group. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event so special, and to our amazing EEW team for making it a place that truly feels like family. ✨ #ChristmasAtEEW

Status quo: How is EEW preparing for EU regulations on the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM)? 🌍 At the EEW Group, we see sustainability not just as a responsibility, it's an opportunity. Since the beginning of 2024, we’ve been actively working on implementing a comprehensive CBAM strategy throughout the group. This strategy includes not only the reporting which has been in place since January but also the long-term implementation of CBAM in EEWs purchasing process. But what is CBAM? This stands for “Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism”, a new EU climate protection measure that aims to take CO₂ emissions into account in imported products, such as steel. This initiative is intended to ensure that imported goods bear the same CO₂ costs as EU-produced products, promoting fair competition and incentivizing more climate-friendly production methods. How are we preparing? To ensure we meet the new requirements for the implementation phase and certificate trading from 2026, we’ve established a dedicated team in collaboration with a specialized consultancy. Together, they will focus on: 📋 Adapting processes 📋 Efficiently track CO₂ data 📋 Ensuring compliance through accurate CBAM reporting. We see this as an excellent opportunity to rethink and refine how we operate. It pushes us toward lower-emission suppliers and more sustainable materials, a shift we’re ready to embrace. Stay tuned for more updates as we advance on building together a cleaner and greener tomorrow! 🌱

Our Commitment to Carbon Neutrality🌍 At the EEW Group, we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint and achieving carbon neutrality. By implementing strategies such as reducing waste, lowering water usage, and targeting net-zero emissions, we aim to drive meaningful environmental change. A key tool for this is the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), a standardized and verified document that provides a clear account of a product’s environmental impact throughout its entire lifecycle. 🌱 What does this include? Well, this comprises key information on product’s materials, its transportation and recyclability, the use of renewable and non-renewable resources from production through to its disposal and its environmental impact, such as emissions, water, and energy use. At the EEW Group, we provide EPDs for all our products across all our facilities around the globe, ensuring transparency in their environmental performance or impact. Why do EPDs matter? ✅ Basis for calculating Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, contributing to the development of our Corporate Carbon Footprint Report. ✅ Critical for Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) of products. ✅ Supports compliance with emission reduction legislation and identifies CO2 reduction opportunities. ✅ Enables transparent, standardized reporting of environmental performance. EPDs may sound technical, but their purpose is simple: to make our environmental impact clear and transparent. By using them, we can work on direct measures to make our production more sustainable in the long term. 🌍 Check out our latest EPDs on our website!
