Die BMW Group investiert rund zehn Mio € in ein neues Kompetenzzentrum für Batteriezellrecycling (Cell Recycling Competence Center, CRCC) im niederbayerischen Kirchroth. Dort soll das sogenannte Direktrecycling in die Praxis umgesetzt werden, das ohne die bisher üblichen chemischen oder thermischen Aufbereitungsschritte auskommt, teilt das Unternehmen mit. Die inhouse entwickelte Methode ermögliche es, Komponenten wie Kathodenaktivmaterialien mechanisch von der Trägerfolie zu lösen und in dieser Form direkt wieder in die Zellproduktion zurückzuführen. Aufbau und Betrieb des CRCC liegen in den Händen der Encory GmbH, einem 50/50-Joint Venture des Münchner Autoherstellers mit Interzero.

📣 BREAKING NEWS: Encory Launches Innovative Direct Battery Recycling Facility in Bavaria🔋   Encory is pioneering a new era of sustainable battery production with a Cell Recycling Competence Center in Kirchroth, Bavaria. In collaboration with the BMW Group Encory will implement a direct recycling process that recovers valuable raw materials from battery cells and reintegrates them into the production cycle. This innovation helps to close the resource loop, reduces the need for primary material extraction, and boosts the sustainability of battery production.   As part of the project, Encory is entering into a strategic partnership with Huayou Recycling Technology Co., Ltd., one of the business units of Huayou Cobalt, which has unique closed-loop value chains for battery materials. The support in battery material technology, innovative recycling solutions and industrialization by Huayou will contribute to the success of the project.   Encory is taking a major step towards advancing circular economy solutions, driving down costs, energy consumption, and CO2 emissions, while ensuring a more competitive and sustainable future for European manufacturing. Representatives from politics, municipalities, businesses, and educational institutions toured our ReLife Point, gaining valuable insights into our innovative processes for recovering and sorting vehicle components.   At our ReLife Point, we process over 1.5 million parts annually, giving them a second life and significantly contributing to a more sustainable circular economy.   A sincere thank you to all the visitors for their keen interest and thoughtful questions. ♻️ Study Trip: Circular Economy in Bavaria and Tunisia 🥨 As part of the project "Qualitative growth for employment", the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) organized a study trip under the name "Circular Economy in Bavaria and Tunisia" and Encory had the pleasure of being invited as a guest speaker. The trip was organized in partnership with the Tunisian Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy and included participants from public authorities, industry associations, techno parks and also company representatives from the chemical, textile and automotive sectors. As guest speakers, we had the chance to introduce Encory and its services, discuss transfer possibilities for the reverse logistics processes between Germany (Europe) and Tunisia (Africa) and finally examine collaboration opportunities between Encory and the circular economy players in Tunisia. A big thank you to the whole GIZ team for organizing the event and for invitating us as guest speakers. Encory Meets Changping District: A Promising Exchange on Sustainability & Collaboration Opportunities 🌏 Recently, Encory had the pleasure of meeting with an esteemed delegation from Changping district in China, led by Mr. Liu Xiaodong, the deputy mayor of the district and chief manager of the district's industrial investment fund. The delegation also included several representatives from the Changping government, local tech parks and leading Chinese companies from the construction, energy and medical sectors.  During the meeting, our circular economy team provided an introduction to Encory's diverse portfolio of reverse logistics services and demonstrated our innovative core sorting tool to showcase how our IT solutions can contribute to the establishment of a well-functioning circular supply chain. The Deputy Mayor emphasized the importance of circular economy sustainable practices and solutions to reduce energy and material consumption and maintain competitiveness in the global market - a vision closely aligned with Encory's mission.
