It's winter in Europe and staying warm is a top priority! 🥶🌡️ One way to do it has a lot of innovative potential and at the same time it's as old-school as you can get.🫂 When it comes to energy, few sources are as reliable as our own bodies. Since the beginning of times, we’ve huddled and cuddled not only for comfort and safety but often simply to keep warm. And yet, besides using our breath to thaw our cold hands in winter, there doesn’t seem to be many obvious applications out there which use excess body warmth. But are there ways to harvest and productively use the #bodyheat we all radiate? #heating https://lnkd.in/ekjHJ9wS

Cultural Principles: Defining the Heart of E.ON Group Innovation As CEO, one question is constantly on my mind: What kind of company do I want to work for? Remarkably, the answer didn't come from me – it came out of our incredible team. At E.ON Group Innovation, we wanted to articulate the essence of who we are and how we work. Because we truly believe that culture is the key to our business success. So starting last year, we embarked on a journey to uncover our cultural DNA – a process from which I deliberately stepped back to ensure it was designed by the team, for the team. Under the dedicated initiative of Dr. Lioudmila Simon and Stefanie Eller, we appointed cultural ambassadors from within the organization and established a framework to shape our vision, mission, and culture. This process led to the creation of our “Cultural Principles”, which serve as a guiding foundation for innovation, collaboration, and growth. When I first saw the result, I was blown away. These eight principles reflect the very soul of EGI. My special thanks to Lioudmila and Stefanie for their strategic vision & tireless dedication - they've given us a roadmap and definition of the company we all want to be part of. Over the coming weeks, I'm excited to share these eight principles with you and introduce you to the amazing teams who live and breathe these values every day, bringing them to life through their work. Stay tuned for inspiring stories, incredible people and a closer look at the culture that makes E.ON Group Innovation unique. #Culture #CulturePrinciples #Leadership #Innovation #Teamwork

Why 2025 will be the year of the #SmartMeter in Germany: Smart meters are more than useful devices—they’re the key to unlocking the energy transition. They enable consumers to benefit from innovative tariff models like dynamic or flexible pricing, optimize energy feed-in from sources like rooftop solar panels, and seamlessly integrate devices such as heat pumps, EV chargers, and battery storage into a smarter energy system. The big picture? Smart meters are the foundation for a future of smarter, greener, and more efficient energy use in our homes. Yet, while countries like Sweden, Denmark, and Italy have achieved near-universal adoption, Germany has been playing catch-up. That’s about to change. Starting January 2025, the rollout of smart meters in Germany will shift into high gear thanks to a groundbreaking law passed in May 2023. This law marks a fresh push toward the digitalization of the energy transition, with ambitious goals: ✅ Mandatory installation for: Households consuming over 6,000 kWh/year. Energy producers with an installed capacity of 7 kW or more. Controllable devices like heat pumps. ✅ Voluntary options for households and producers below these thresholds. Operators must install smart meters within 4 months upon request. ✅ Large consumers (over 100,000 kWh/year) and large producers (over 100 kW) will also be included, starting in 2028. The goal? By 2030, 95% of eligible users will be connected, setting the stage for a smarter energy landscape in Germany. Now, over to you: 💡 Do you already have a smart meter at home? 🤔 Do you think this regulation will help Germany catch up in the energy transition? Share your thoughts in the comments— we’d love to hear your perspective!

What started as an idea has grown into an independent subsidiary that is now in demand around the world: Evailable. This is one of the projects that makes me so proud to work for E.ON Group Innovation. Over the years, our team has worked tirelessly on this initiative, in the face of significant obstacles and situations that almost made us give up. But we kept pushing forward because we believed in the immense value it would bring to #eMobility and the charging industry. Today, #Evailable is not only an important milestone for E.ON Group Innovation, but also a compelling proof point for the innovative power within our company.
