🌍 Exciting updates from the #ICPerMed Family Meeting! ICPerMed - The International Consortium for Personalised Medicine Yesterday, the EU-AFRICA PerMed Project team had the opportunity to present our progress and key milestones at this significant event: ✅ Erika Sela Andres, our project coordinator, shared the main highlights and outputs of the project. ✅ Monika Frenzel presented our recently published #ActionPlan to facilitate, promote, and foster personalised medicine (#PM) research collaboration between #Africa and #Europe. You can read this document here: https://lnkd.in/d_FixVRa ✅ Luciana Gine introduced our initiative to document and showcase #SuccessStories of Africa-Europe #research_collaboration in #PM. ✅ We were also joined by Rizwana Mia, our colleague and Vice-Chair of #ICPerMed. The meeting, titled "A new phase for #PerMed", covered a variety of important topics, including: ◽ Strategic discussions on policy and internationalisation within the #ICPerMed network and its link with EP PerMed - the European Partnership for Personalised Medicine, with contributions from Astrid Moura Vicente, Marius Geanta, MD, Monika Frenzel and Wolfgang Ballensiefen. ◽ Updates on the Coordination and Support Actions PROPHET.EU, presented by Roberta Pastorino. ◽ A warm welcome to #Tunisia as a new ICPerMed member, with presentations by Myriam razgallah khrouf and Helmi Mardassi ◽ Insights from Genome Canada on their latest initiatives in PM, presented by Catalina Lopez-Correa. It was truly inspiring to share the virtual stage with #leaders in #PM and to highlight our collective efforts to strengthen collaboration in this field. In the context of Ethical, Legal and Social Aspects (ELSA) within EP PerMed’s WP5 a 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 will be organised as a satellite to the 𝐄𝐏 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐌𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 on 12-13 February 2024 in Berlin, Germany. The workshop is specifically tailored to the #PersonalisedMedicine scientific community (𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴, 𝘤𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘴 and 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴), applying to EP PerMed (and other) potential funding schemes, dealing with ethics compliance considerations, from the submission to the execution phase of their scientific projects.
