Last week we held our annual #CompanyChristmasParty at a stunning location: Gutenberg Verlag und Druckerei (GVD), a printing and publishing house located in the old Leipzig Cotton Mill (Leipziger Baumwollspinnerei).   The building is part of an historic industrial site which was once the largest cotton mill in continental Europe, and is now used as a center of #CulturalArts with various galleries, artisan production facilities, and even Europe's leading start-up hub SpinLab - The HHL Accelerator. Until about noon on the day of our event, large printers, copiers, and a shop were set up where our dinner tables were then located. Our colleagues enjoyed seeing the inner workings of a running printing and publishing house, and the photo box, table tennis matches, and white elephant gift exchange made for a memorable evening.   Thanks to the teams from GVD and Opitz Catering & Fleischerei GmbH & CO. The last PFM 92 C, one of Dr. Födisch Umweltmesstechnik AG’s very first devices, has rolled off the production line. This device was an extra special order – it was presented to our own Dirk Roloff as a retirement gift! Dirk (pictured here with his device and our Head of Sales, Thomas Lambertz) has been with the company for over 17 years and will be missed. Last week our solutions were presented at #ElectricityConnect2024 in Jakarta, Indonesia by our partner PT. Polaris Instrumentasi Dinamika. Today, we are pleased to report a strong performance for the third quarter. Once again, we delivered our record-high operational EBITA margin of 19%, as well as solid cash flow. Order intake was up by 2%, with strong demand for our technologies from data centers, utilities and infrastructure. During this quarter, we added two small but important businesses to our portfolio. One is Dr. Födisch Umweltmesstechnik AG, which expands our offering in advanced industrial emissions measurement and analytical solutions; the other is SEAM Group which complements our asset management and advisory services in the US industrial and commercial buildings markets. We made further progress on our Sustainability Agenda, reducing emissions from our own operations by 17% year-on-year. On the customer side, a highlight from the quarter was ABB’s automation of the world’s largest single-site solar plant, Al Dhafra PV2 in Abu Dhabi. This 2 GW plant uses four million solar modules to power 200,000 homes annually. I want to say a big thank you to everyone at ABB for these results. With our great people and world-class technologies, I’m convinced that we have plenty more room to grow and prosper.
